I've been reading some posts about Legends using an NSX oil filter. They mention things like higher oil pressure... smoother upper RPM's... greater surface area...

first off, would this fit our car, and if so, is there an advantage? Apparently they are considerably larger and cost a few more $. These are only the Honda filters Fram and others use the smaller legend filter for the NSX.

 

really will it work, and how much is it thats interesting man

There are 4 oil filters available from Acura at this time .
cartridge style for early production 1 st gen Legends
standard for 2 nd gen Legend and late production 1st gen Legend all Integra and Vigor first gen TL .
NSX specific filter.
New small style for all RSX TL MDX CL TSX RL.

You can use a NSX filter on a second gen Legend ,it is larger so it will have more filtering surface area .As for the other alleged claims I cannot verify smoother high rpm or higher oil pressure (but this sounds like an internet fairy tale to me).

The NSX filter will not fit 2 nd gen TL TSX MDX or 3 rd gen TL RSX or RL


If you want to spend a few more on a bigger filter go for it .If you change your oil every 3500 it is just more money for no benefit .

That man is correct.

Also, they switched oil filter for the new TL compared to the last gen TL I believe. Someone in parts was telling me something like that when my buddy and I were at the parts counter getting him some oil filters.

 

The 3rd gen TL uses the same filter as the 2nd gen .

Hmm then I must be thinking of the 1st gen TL.
