NSX
NSX
Ok don't get me wrong I love the NSX, but for 88k + luxary tax + state tax. Here in NJ that tacks on 11% putting your grand total close enough to 100K. Personally I'd consider a lot of other cars before I got that.

I wouldnt buy that car if i am super rich
i'd get a slightly used yellow nsx...put some 19"s on it, body kit, supercharger, sparco seats...
one of these days..heheh
i agree with that statement though...i couldn't justify spending 90k+ on a japanese car...

A lot of other cars for 90k before an NSX? Name em. The only car I'd consider for that price other than the NSX is a 911. No Vipers, Corvettes, or M3s. An NSX for 90 grand can be thought of as expensive or inexpensive, depending on what you compare it to. Compared to a 45k M3 or 50k Corvette, it seems expensive, but compare that to some Jaguars and Mercedes, and it's justifiable.

I like that S500 also, but there are so many of the new ones on the road...I see more of them than CLs now. Gotta get an M5 or a CLK55.

True for handling/speed, but with the NSX, you get an interior worthy of an expensive car too.

01/02 M3
01 Vette Z06
00/01/02 M5
01 Viper GTS/RT 10
Lotus Esprite V8 Turbo
911 TT
Cobra R
probably more, but can't think of em..
BTW, for the people who might start flaming...this is JUST MY opinion...

I personally can't justify 50k (40k vette vs. 90k NSX), just for a nicer interior. Hell gimme a NSX w/ all the fake trim and crappy sound system for around $50k and I'd buy it in a heartbeat. In the price range of 50k-120k I'd say the NSX doesn't rate very high for me. Before the NSX I'd probably look into the following:
01/02 M3
01 Vette Z06
00/01/02 M5
01 Viper GTS/RT 10
Lotus Esprite V8 Turbo
911 TT

I think ya right on..... the Z06 can run with the big dogs

and i'd have money left over to put down on the shore house
Didn't mean to flame anyone there. 50K, 90K, doesn't matter...it's all dreamland for me unless the market goes back to Jan-Mar 2000 levels. So yeah, in a perfect world, I'm going to want a nice interior to go with everything else. I probably wouldn't get the NSX either for the money, but I sure do love looking at it. Off to find the next ten-bagger to bring the CLK one step closer to reality...
Change is coming for the NSX
The biggest production expense is the aluminum body - which doesn't weigh much less than competitor's steel and fiberglass offerings.
Anticipate V8 power, no aluminum body panels, domestic production, and a price tag around $60K.

Gimmie the NSX, drop a SC in that shit and i'm rollin with 400HP, 300+lbs/ft torque all in body that weighs 3100 lbs and is running with a 6 cylinder
Plus, it's built in Tochigi, Japan
Weight to power.....not many things close to it(without paying like 80 grand more in price and boat loads in maintainence costs).....besides the new '02 Z06......but i'd go with the import over the domestic
