Now that Acura acknowleged your tranny bitching...

Have you guys noticed a decrease in tranny bitching after Acura extending our warranties? Well of course! But that's not my point....now you guys moved on to something else...paint. Now I am not saying you guys are lying, but as soon as the first paint bitching thread came up there were 15 other threads. I don't want this forum to turn into a paint bitch fest so calm down...

P.S. I know acura's paint quality was always know as questionable...but suddenly...

Yeah, these things surface just like that!

I've had problems from day one, but they've been good so far to fix them. I'm just trying to build up a case when I go in for my first oil change to see what they can do. My fit/finish issues have been addressed...but I still need to address some paint issues. If people have things they noticed, then I will see if I have the same problem. Like SickTypeS, he probably thought some of the problems were from his doing, but if more people complain, he has a case that it's not his fault.

We're all picky car enthusiasts here...we don't want our hard earned cash to go to waste to a crappy car w/ poor quality. Hopefully if these things are really a problem, Acura will do something about it. If they don't acknowledge it, maybe enough of us can rally and get them to. If not, then we're screwed and we just wait until all the paint thins out.

Maybe we need a "paint problem" forum here just like the tranny problem one.

while i agree that this forum shouldnt become bitching-central about every little thing....problems of transmission and PAINT shouldnt occur in a car that cost this much in the first place...

MAYBE in a kia or hyundai....

everyone seems down on the CL in general; just because a few new cars came out.

Actually in a recent C&D comparison test, the honda civic had the worst paint, alot of rattles and many many misalignment issues in terms of fit &finish, C&D went as far as even 2 call the car a LOSER...no joke check out this month's issue...Like my honda mechanic friend said, Quality control has def. gone down at Honda

i dont think its the quality control

its safer cars. the civics has the softest metal and body parts than any other honda/acura. its cheaper to go lighter and test crashes have proved that softer material does better to protect the people in the car

they could make the cl with thicker and harder body surfaces but that would mean the car would be heavier and expensive.

Most everyone rags on the domestics. My 01 Ford truck is every bit as good and solid as this Acura, body panels certainly fit better, and there is no history of the Ford 4r100 tranny blowing like these 5spd autos. I've been very dissapointed.

No I was not "digging for some flame bait." I expect complaints, but lately that's all there is. I just "tried" to stop the paint bitching before it got really huge.

And Shawn, of all people I expected you to back me up the most. Everytime the bitching gets out of hand, I always see you stand up and try to stop it. BTW, of course i noticed this place was a bitch fest...that's why i said something.

All of the boards are like that. Might be a seasonal thing. Plus there's always a newbie that comes along and stirs the pot back up.

Checkout www.my350z.com they even already have polls for tranny shifting noises, orange peel, rattles...

If you only focus on the posts that are like that, you wont see the other ones that are good.

Like the 13.5 that was run on a 75 shot, Gavrill's post on the new 5 series...
