Where did u go to get your car tinted...who would u work with again...who do you not recomend...I am looking to get tints very soon....the proce you paid for your job would also really help. Thanks a lot!!!

 

I get my tint done at Sam's Stereo in Leesburg. I have been going to them for installs and audio stuff for the last 7 years. They are the ONLY people in my area that I TRUST. The only problem is that they only do tint jobs on Mondays and its a another person outside of Sam's that does the tint. But I have had my 02 Sentra Spec-V, My 01 CL, and my gf's TC tinted there without any complaints. I paid about 200 for 35% all around on my CL. ANother good place that I have HEARD (not gone to) is L.A Tint.

 

thanks man...would they do like a 20-25% black tint u think???..I have tan interior so im thinking that 35% wouldnt look that dark

 

any places where its cheaper?? i know if some places have "hook-ups" and can do a really job of tinting all around 35% for 100

I don't know if this is going to help you guys, but I'll say it anyway. I know a great place in ATL. Called bunch of dealers to see who they recommend and came across this guy in duluth area. Got my CL, friends' 03 Altima and 03 Inifiti Sedan for 420 total. We all got 20 % tint and it looks great. All three of us have black interior and Altima is Black exterior so that even looks better. The thing about CL is our back windshield has dots in upper area. This guy actually spray-painted from inside so from outside it looks pitch-black. Wish I can put up some pics for you guys, but I dont' know how. Let me know if you are willing to travel and get this done.

 

Georgia is a hike for us! Anyway, I think L.A Tint will do a group discount. I think they will do illegal tint for our area but I dont think at that point they wont warranty the tint even though I heard they do a great job. Dont bother calling them asking to do anything under 35%, you have to show up in person to ask. They wont give too much info over the phone because you could be a cop calling and seeing if they do Illegal tint duh. LA tint is located in sterling by the way. Couple of miles down the road from Dulles Airport.

 

for the right price i'm in ... i'd keep it legal since I live in MD and they're a pain in the ass, but i need to get somethin on there ...

 

I second the recommendation of LA Tint. It's definitely not cheap, but its the best stuff out there.

 

I know great one in Fairfax. Price is little high but quality is the best. If there's a group buy, i'm in too. I currently have 20% all around on my black cl, and i got 3 tickets in 6 months. I'm definitely taking them off and redo it for 35% all around. There's also one in Centreville. (They have $190, $220, $250 for CL depends on tint quality) I haven't done it there but asked when I got a ticket.

 

I already have tint on my car, but I suggest that you people organize how many are gonna get tints, then call LA Tint for a price qoute for the number of people you get together. I remember when I was gonna get mine done with two other friends the were offering a pretty good discount. (Dont remember the exact amount off.) But I know that LA Tint can do all different kinds of tint and what not.

This thread was very helpful. My only concern is that if I were to get 35% tint on top of the stock tint wouldn't that cause some problems with the police? By the way I would be in for getting some tints with a group once my B-day rolls around$$, like early may.

im definately down for this.

my only problem is i have to get my tint removed.

when i bought my car the owner had some really weak tint on it and it has some scratches.

 

$100 sounds good to me . I am not in for sure but as the date, time and location become clearer then so will my answer.

 

im saying.. it wont be 100 for sure.. but if we have a lot of guys trying to gets tints im pretty sure the price is going to be very resonable.. even 150 each person is good

 

I've taken 4 cars to California Tint not to mention all the referrals I've sent them. They do an excellent job. I go to their location in Great Falls (they used to be located in Tyson's where MVC now resides) http://www.californiatint.com/ They will to illegal tint but they charge you a bit extra. I just got my tint done at "tint shop" on rockville pike, it next to the
Rockville Carmax.....they did a good job I do have some of those black dots on the rear windshield but I think I am gonna try to spray paint it, that seems like it might work.....I paid $125, but it was "HOOK-UP" lol.......regular they are like 170 out the door.....but let me know I'll see what I can do.......

And my friend put 35% tint on his windows.....and he got a correction ticket in MO County went to the state trooper barracks and failed....he had to remove his tint....because with your dealership tint makes it less that 35%....true story....I put 20% no prob......so far.... I had it on my 97 jetta for two years no problems at all, just the occassional spotlight flash on i270....what pricks we have..

same here! except I have too dark one. I had put 35% all around (paid $270), then thought it wasn't dark enough, then I put 10% all around (paid $360 including removing previous one). Then I got 3 tickets and trying to remove it and redo it again for 35%. Hell of money for just tint!!

 

ok lets try to do this.. so far it seems like 4 or 5 of us including myself want to get tints. yea next week is my spring break also...so if we can get something next week it would be perfect...and i have never tinted b4...do we have to do any preping like cleaning or do they take care of that

 

Nothing was required on my 5 previous tints with mine and others. I don't think you have to wash it either unless it is really dirty. (since inside of window doesn't get dirty easily) However, it is better not to open the window for a day or more and not to wash inside with alcohol contained after it is done.

 

I've been there once. Nice turn out, too. There were several meets as I can remember.

ok i called both places. LA TINT wants 200+ per car which is insane when I told them 7+ people wanted it. California Tints wants 160 per car and an extra 15 for those who want a lil more tint. Lets definitely go with California Tints and the gentleman I talked to on the phone seemed much more friendler (doesn't really matter but the guy from LA TINT didnt seem to care if i had 7 cars or 100) anyways call me at 4435679697 so we can do this within the next couple weeks.

Hey guys, don't know if this will help..Everyday on my way home I pass this new tint place that just opened up on Route 7. If you are going west bound coming from Tysons corner towards Reston, it is on the right hand side, in between the 7-11 and Dahtsun Dynamics right before the route 7/Baron Cameron intersection. I don't know the name, but if any of you live in the area you might want to swing by, see how much they charge.
