the cl-s6 is a solid car. the legend has an overheating problem. go to acura - legend . com and ask them about what problems the cars have

They are both excellent cars. The Legend still turns heads today.

Just keep in mind, both cars arent made any longer, and were sold in limited quantities. Parts will be a pain in the ass to locate more-so on a 14 year old car though.

The 6mt Legend is an awesome car and for the year it came out it really outshines competition. Honestly though, I would go for the CL because it is more up to date looks wise and as mentioned above the parts are easier to find on a newer car

Interior though, both cars are super comfy and look very clean

i think the legend would be a "funner" (yes its not a word, sue me) project IMO.

but the CL is a very nice DD as well. you can't go wrong with either as long as you get 6mt.

Legend

- Self-closing doors
- BHG can be prevented with different fan timing, this was done for the 1st gen 3.2 TL and 1st gen RL. NO BHG issues.
- More expensive and rarer car
- Interior is higher quality

Legend automatics were reliable but the engine is so much more fun with a 6MT. The instant the tranny goes out on my TL or RL, I'm swapping a Legend manual

Why limit the search to just 95 legend coupes ? Didn't the 6spd come on the coupes from 1993-1995 (in L and LS trim) ??

And when you say "garage queen", I take that to mean that you're looking for a low mileage example... or maybe you're just not going to drive it much, so a higher mileage car would be ok ??

It's not going to be easy to find a Legend 6mt coupe unless you do a nationwide search... If you want something with low miles / garage queen condition, you're going to have to look hard and pay dearly for it...

While they only made 3511 CL 6spds, they seem to be easier to find in decent low mile condition... There's a few in the black market here, and they can be sourced locally with relative ease unless you're looking for a particular color combo or w/ or w/o navi.

Lets look for some garage queens on autotrader:

There are 11 CL 6spds with under 75K miles listed on autotrader...

I got nothing on autotrader when searching for 1995 Legend MT's (coupes and sedans) with under 75k miles...

I did find ONE 1995 legend 6mt coupe, but it's got 166k miles, so it's not a garage queen, but one that has been driven...

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...r_id=262295396

And here's a 1993 with 190K miles:

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...r_id=261372079

You can try checking the forsale forum over on acura-legend.com, but it's not going to be easy (or cheap) to find a decent 6mt coupe.

i went through the same options when i totaled my RL.

good condition Legends were $7k-$8k easy for a much older car and alot of the groundbreaking innovation is made irrelevant by its age. it is a classic though, but also heavier and it has quite poor fuel efficiency.

in the end, the Legend coupes that i liked were reaching close to $10K and at that price a CL in the same price range were a better value.

My analysis was for a daily driver though and while I wanted to work on the car, I needed reliability, which is easier on a 100k mile, 8 year old car than a 200k mile 14 year old car, tranny problems or not.
