these are the same header for the 5at they just ahve a bend in one of the pipes to go around the 6mt motor mount. they work on either car! read the thread.

What grade bolts do you suggest to pick up?

(I'm getting mine installed tomorrow...)

Use the ones that come with the XSPower headeres or just go get some regular bolts at the local hardware store that measure the same as the ones in the box with the headers......I cant remember the size right off hand

Don't over tighten those. They'll snap right in half. I had to learn the hard way, lol.

hehe....which is why I want to get better bolts. My shop said they'd probably be ok but they'd prefer if I picked up something stronger.

dont use the supplied bolts or gaskets!!!! use factory ones, dont be stupid and use the crappy ones they send you! the headers are great and will give you nice gains and sound at a burger deal price..... anybody got a 6 speed cl tranny they wanna sell? I need one..

The gaskets that come with the headers are fine. I used them, fuzzy used them, and believe someone else has too. All of us used them with no problems so far. If they start to leak, which I doubt they will, then I'll replace them. As for the bolts, getting better ones isn't a bad idea. If you don't I have at least two words for you... lock washers.

If you feel you don't want to then don't use them, but again, there's nothing wrong with the gaskets or the bolts. You can use them & they work fine.

It was me......but I thank you I won a bid on Sunday but lost two others earlier so I joined two bids at once. I think I'll get new factory gaskets from Acura and check on ARP or factory bolts for my install.

I just had a thought I wanted to share with everyone... I wouldn't be surprised if SSAutochrome/XS Power catches on to this buying spree of headers and jacks up the price. After that, considering their reputation, the quality will go down and we'll start to see problems with new batches.

I say, if anyone is even considering this purchase, you'd probably be best to do it now before the ship sails.

I can only hope that doesn’t happen LordH. I love mine so far.

In ANSWER to question way above about what bolts to get if you want to replace them. Go look for grade 8 or 10 bolts at a good fastener shop or bolt shop or auto parts warehouse. i think grade 4 come with it. you will have to look around. i am pretty sure the higher the grade the higher the strength.

Oh man, I really hope that doesn't happen. I wanted to wait til after I got back from my trip to get these. I'm gonna have to see if I can win an auction soon, so I can get these shipped to me before I leave.

Thanks!

I've found a place that should have a good selection of higher grade bolts close to my shop so I'm going to stop in before I drop off my car tomorrow.

And yes you're right, the bolts I got were marked as grade 4.8 (metric).

Won the bid Sunday....delivered this morning, now that's fast
Quaility seems tight, the welds look smooth and even, no burrs in or around. I never saw Comptech headers so I'll go with what others have seen judging the construction between the two but they look very solid. Might be a few weeks before I get a chance to install them

Hi, Those wont fit because the auction is from the year 1998-2002. What you can do is visit our ebay store www.ssautochrome.com and put in a search for 2003 raceheaders and you will find what you are looking for . Please email us if you have any further questions . Thanks

Yeah, they don't know what they're talking about. This is the exact title to their auctions:
"COMPTECH STYLE ACCORD V6 3.0L RACE HEADERS CL 6 SPEED"

If it fits the CL 6 Speed, it should fit your tl-s as well.

Are you gonna do the install yourself?

I was quoted 160$ for the install at my speed shop, which is weird..................I only paid 90$ from same shop when I installed my megans 6 months ago.(Damn I hate Inflation)...They say the reason is that the install was harder than first thought on a 3.2 v6,guess they learned something from my first install(BS)
This my lead me to try myself.already ordered new gaskets(OEM),just need to work up the nerve now

I suppose I could relieve your fears by telling you I "just" got back from the shop with my new XS Power headers installed on my 03 6 Speed. Very minor sound change with the stock exaust and it does feel stronger under load.

I'm really happy with the way the car feels.

And yes...I bought from XS Power not www.ssautochrome.com on Ebay....but they're the same headers I'm sure.

AND...if you read the discription
COMPTECH STYLE ACCORD V6 3.0L RACE HEADERS CL 6 SPEED

If anyone wants more pictures let me know and I'll post some.

Yeah, I kind of wanted to do the install myself, but I'm kinda scared I won't be able to reach the rear header, or something's gonna go wrong. I don't know if it's worth risking it. Would you maybe want to get together and try to tackle the install together? I'm in the north bay area (Marin).

This thread will not die.

I just won my auction for a set of these puppies for $150 shipped! I was pissed that you guys started saying that they'll start raising up the prices soon, and to get them now becuase I already had a bid going...but it worked out.

I'll post opinions once I get them bolted on...hopefully I'll be another happy customer!

This might be obvious to most people but I hadn't considered it. The XS Power headers are noticably lighter than the stock exaust manafold.

Nice to gain some power and drop a little weight.

Lightbulb Diy

Anyone feel like doing a DIY for installing headers???

Just a thought.

I would do it but i have no idea how

How much are you guys paying for the bolts and gaskets in the US.

Just compairing, going to Cedar Point at the end of July, may pick up in US if cheaper.

Oh if you have any suggestion for what to go on and what to avoid at Cedar Point, Please PM me.

if you guys want to save 10 bucks in shipping do a search on ebay for xps honda accord v6 headers the same company sells the same headers under that name for only 30 shipped instead of 40 like they do for the ones labled for accorc / cls 6 speed... yet the pictures are the exact same pictures for both auctions.

I have a set getting shipped out on wednesday, so hopefully i can do a diy when i get around to installing them at my friends place
