If you have an intake or exhaust modifications, those are mods that don't do anything except allow the engine to breathe better.
To say it puts the engine out of spec, as one person's Acura sales rep claimed to them, is completely bogus - if an engine isn't made to tolerate being run without intake and exhaust restrictions, that's pathetic.
Sure, I could see an issue with the intake sucking something in that could hurt the engine, but we're talking about people having things not covered under warranty simply because Acura Care claims that those MASSIVE SUPER AMAZING mods are JUST TOO MUCH for our engine to handle.
Opinions?

if i go into rosental and they tell me that my cai, exhaust, headers and short shifter made my power windows break(theoretically)
i would really beat the tech rep over the head.
i got headers so that might have killed the engine warraty... fine.... but they are supposed to warranty other stuff also. just becase someone does one mod to the car doesnt mean the the whole warranty can be voided.
especially if they would make you pay for the oem broken part that they would replace under warranty.
example.... if you rusted out your exhaust @ 45k because you lived in alaska, they would replace it, but make you pay for thr parts.
get it?

still... putting more pressure on the engine strains it... it's not like a breathing component i.e. i/h/e ... you're forcing more air into there and not going by natural air pressure... they could WRITE A BOOK on how many ways they could void your warrant with any forced induction or nitrous... anyways, something goes wrong, take it off and take the car in... that's what we used to do when we had turbos and SCs on our newer civics and integras back in h/s... lots of work but saves your ass... just don't have extra parts when you put stuff back

actually i didn't have a problem with i/e/h and springs. The service rep was actually talking to me about my car and i have probably the most anal dealership in new york(rallye). But i'm almost positive that no bolt on mods can void your warranty unless the dealership can prove in court that what you put on your car caused the malfunction
