I installed my nitrous kit on tuesday night. the install went smoothly , but i had problems afterwards due to a leaking line and a broken bottle bracket. I tested it out and it worked decent, but the leaking line was making it run rich. Then the check engine and VSA light turned on. I am really pissed at this point. I decided to call it a day. On wednesday i replaced the bad nitrous line, bought a new bottle bracket and topped off the bottle. I reset the ECU and headed to the track. The car was suddenly running very good. I am running an 80 shot of nitrous, and my only other performance mod is a CAI. I was on stocks, with 18 psi up front and 45 psi in the rear. 1/4 tank of gas and full interior w/ spare and jack. it was about 83 degrees and humidity is unknown, but it was high.

My best on nitrous time was a 13.75 @ 103.01 MPH R/T .682
i also ran a 13.85, and a 13.98 on nitrous, when i tried spraying "out the hole" i ran a 14.06, and when i shifted in SS i ran a 14.03

I did one run without nitrous and ran a 15.069 @ 92.97 MPH

Well-I think your crazy by spraying and chancing your warrantee--but hey--if you want speed you gotta take some chances--I guess...Anyway--please post a followup in a couple months and let us know if you run into any mechanical problems

I just hope your tranny doesn't go BOOM!!!

 

Check engine and VSA goes high at the same time means Tranny trouble.. Better to have some Redline Oil in the tranny or yours is DOOMED!

 

i forgot to mention that after i reset the ECU and changed the nitrous line no lights have come on, and i did 5 runs on nitrous in about 4 hours with no problems... only time will tell.

Sorry to burst your bubble but there was a CL-S in Miami running 13.2's all day long on street tires a few months back, the owner did blow his motor and tranny but he got it fixed and is wanting to sell his car......ask some members from miami and they will tell you. The guys name is Raymond and he has a gold CL-S....this is not to start a flame war or "beef" but just to get the facts straight

Great runs. Cutting 1.25+ seconds off your stock times with just an 80shot on a stock car is sweet. I wonder what it would be like with CAI, headers, and pulleys. Probably close to 13.2.
Then add the 3.5L upgrade. Mmmmm.

 

Great times! The kid with the gold typeS running low 13s, did he have NEX coilovers and C5's? Anyhow, good luck with the nitrous. If your tranny dies, just pull out the nitrous and take it in for warranty. They're so used to tranny failures I doubt they'll give you any trouble at all.

thats cool dude, i'm not talking shit i'm sure he did run a 13.2. i was talking about me have the fastest CL or CL-S on the site if i wanted to i could put a 200 shot run a 12's in the 1/4 mile and blow slap the fuck up to but i don't think that should count...

 

I remember that guy...he was the one that blew his tranny. He went to the dealer and didn't take his kit out. Then got mad when the dealer found it and wouldn't fix his tranny.

 

Awww yeah... Now it's all coming back to me. I was trying to remember if that was the same dood who was on here running those numbers.

Mental note... If you get NOS, take it out before a trip to the dealer.

A wet kit? You might be the only NOS user to use a wet system on the CL-S. Everyone uses the dry kit in 50-75 shot.

Redline ATF won't do much...Honda ATF is a full syn custom mix just like Redline...and both Redline and Honda have told me to use Honda ATF...

Glad to hear another nitrous runner So you chose wet over dry eh? Any dripping/pooling issues? That was my only concern to date. Just an idea...over time the additive in the nitrous to keep people from getting high of the stuff will color your engine interior...it may be worthwhile to get a nitrous bottle filler (not a whole lot) and find a supplier of pure nitrous a la medical/physics/engineering...which is what I plan on doing. Otherwise they still can detect your running nitrous.

the headers alone wont drop me down to 13's...u need nos and i still dont think i wanna spray. i wanna wait for the supercharger to come out then see how i do and then after that spray..i should be in the 12's...

there is actually an aditive you can add to redline that will make it beneficial to running honda ATF, look it up on the accordv6 board

So far so good, i have checked for pooling of fuel and so far there is none the nitrous system has been working perfectly. now it's time to hit the dyno and turn the nitrous up.

BTW- last night at the races i beat a supra TT from a rolling start (20 mph) to (90 mph) by about 3 1/2 cars, and a Boosting MR2 by about 3 cars, but he had a 4 car head start.
