my local race shop says they think i should run an 80 shot... is this totally fucking insane or what? opinions please

yup, insane, although people are doing it. I'd say to be safe, run a 50 shot.

Ask yourself this, do I have the money in the bank to buy a new transmission?

Well, 50shot is ok too.... But the main concern is the tranny..... CLP/TLP are different, even with 50shot, its still not that much compare to a TypeS.... 225+50=275, it's like only 15hps over typeS.... But TypeS add 50shot, will be 310hps at the crank.... I would seriously think prepared for new tranny... Cuz both car's tranny are the same.... If most TypeS with only bolts on have problems, imagine wat a NOS 50shot can do....

This is also the MAIN reason that I dun get NOS, not because I cant afford it, but I cant afford to loose a tranny.

50 shot is the best way to go! You dont want to kill our weak transmission!

Level10 can help out with the tranny and a tranny cooler would help.

No cheep way .. I called around and it looks like 5K for a tranny build that will take some goosing... even w/that still telling me it wont take no mo then 300lbs of torque...... Wishin I waited for the 6 speed
