Not bad, how much would it run with and w/o core charge.

All the runners are made using brand new cores from Honda. So there is no core charge, and no down time for your car. Just pop the new runners in

Here are 2 pictures of how inside of the CL runners look before any porting, as the 2008 accord runners are actually a little smoother than the CL runners from factory.

So for the price do you get anything else, like head to runner gaskets, fuel injector o-rings?

I think for practicality sake you might want to consider a core charge that can be refunded this way you'll have used runners in stock this way it may lower the cost a little not much of course since brand new they're like $143 shipped.

PowerRev - do you feel the smoother runner provides better performance? i've always seen 2 schools of thought, mirror finish, or slightly rough. slightly rough inducing fuel build up for better combustion.

Allow me to chime in on this question, as long as the air is not mixing with fuel you want it a smooth as possible for faster, less turbelent air. The school of thought your refering to has to do with the air/fuel mixture going through the intake manifold and atomizing more thoroughly as its tumbles through the manifold, this goes back to the days of carburation for the most part or for port injection thats in the IM but further away from the combustion chamber or intake valve.

Now adays most designs revolve around the fuel injector dispensing fuel in the direction of the intake valve, so the fuel doesn't really get to mix at all with the air prior to entering the combustion chamber. If you remember that was the whole point of VTEC-E to create a swirl effect and atomize the fuel better by increasing the velocity of the air, both VTEC-E and VORTEC hope to achieve the same thing faster air, however VTEC-E sarifices flow for this but thats why it only occurs up to 3500rpm on the J30A1.

you are right, the intake runners wouldn't matter if they are as smooth as possible.

same question, different part of the car.... if you port/polish a head, you will smooth out the valve openings. even on new motors, people stand by that you need some area for the fuel to sit to mix with the air properly or the fuel will just be dumped through and not mixing as effeciently as possible.

what i mean was the lower intake runners can be smooth with no negative side effects.

but polishing the intake side of the head to mirror finish i have heard to be a bad thing, but i'm not sure.

Yeah pretty much, the intake runners pose no problem the head however I can see your point since it would be more difficult for the fuel to adhere to a rough surface with high points then a smoother surface.

huh? just the opposite. mirror finish and the fuel molecules won't be able to stick.
