Just wanted to intro myself - picked up '03 Type-S 6 spd on Sat. Time to mod...

What are common mods?
Whose exhaust to buy?
Cold air kit?
Lowering kit?
Anyone installed sub/amp on Bose?
Computer prom/swap?

I am sure these questions have been dealt with repeatedly, but I appreciate your help.

Hello and welcome aboard!!

1) The most common mods are the ones you listed pretty much. Intake, Headers, Exhaust, Rims/Tires, Springs, Sways, Pulleys, etc.

2) The two popular brands of exhaust are the HKS and the Comptech. Comptech is actually more popular, however, since the downturn of the market some people are saving money and going for the HKS. Actually... that's not true.. but more people do have the Comptech Gains are 1-3HP max.

3) CAI.... two popular companies... AEM and Injen. They are almost identical, so it's really up to you what to do. Gains are about 6-10hp

4) Most people lower the car with the Comptech springs b/c they ride the closest to stock, however, H&R has steadily been increasing in popularity too. A couple of people did Eibach and Neuspeed, but most go with either H&R or Comptech b/c they fit better.

5) There are a couple of sick stereos on here... Astroboy has an incredible one and Eclipse's is sweet too. THere are more that just aren't popping into my head at the moment.

6) The only computer mods I've seen are the addition of the V-AFC from APEXi. It allows some tuning of the engine such as VTEC engagement, etc. Most people seem to think this is a waste of money unless you have every engine mod around. Even then many don't like it.. although there are a few that do.

OK - car went to dealer today to get rear spoiler installed and detailed - set for 5% limo tint next Thursday (gotta love FL)! Went to mechanic to see about springs, intake and exhaust last night.
