Thanks man .. yeah I wish I didnt let off the throttle either!! but cold ground + stock michelins = NO traction .. plus I couldn't get going too fast, there were people walking on the road haha .. bad enough my friend was laying in the street filming it with my camera
As soon as I came around that turn there was a cop, the Valentine 1 saved my ass for the first time since I bought it a week ago.
In spring I will take new launch vids with Pirelli PZero Rossos and rims on .. so I'll get traction and I'll make sure its on a road where I can keep on it

Do you feel more power with the icebox than with Aem?

Next time we line up on the parkway we're doing a high speed CT header vs. OBX header test ......

BTW I plan on replacing the Comptech foam filter with a K&N one, I've heard from SFLA that this brings back a bit of the AEM VTEC growl.

Nice job blader on getting the vids up. ![Nod](https://acurazine.com/forums/images/smilies/nod.gif)
I'd put one up of the Icebox/B-pipe/Exhaust but i have no way to record it.
I had my buddy drive my car while i rode behind him and made him do some 0-60 runs and i believe it did sound a bit deeper then that vid you posted. Not by much however.
All i know is that that AEM CAI sounds sweeeeeet. :o

Chap, Yes, I do admit the AEM sounds great at WOT, but thats the only time I enjoyed it. Driving like a normal person, ESPECIALLY when the engine was just started up cold, its annoying. I'm going to make the switch to K&N in the Icebox; I've heard that makes it a little more throaty in VTEC plus I feel the K&N is a better filter than the Uni foam one.
Jim, I will work on getting those in car vids.

Its hard to tell. It feels basicly the same.
Nah no real difference in performance. I occasionally miss the growl of the AEM in VTEC but do not miss the EMBARRASSING RIDICULOUSLY LOUD HISS for ten minutes upon cold startup. And also dont miss how my AEM filter rubbed on the inside of my front bumper. And the other various hissing noises it made (with a\c on, when you let off at low throttle, etc)

Sorry I know this is an old post, but I still think that the stock exhaust with intake sounds a hell of a lot better than with the comptech exhaust on...could I be crazy.

I've yet to hear an exhaust on a OHC V6 that really sounds good. The aftermarket muffs make the exhaust too high pitched and raspy for my liking.

Yeah, your definately crazy. I love the CT exhaust to death, I love the tone, I love how it sounds in the car and out. its just got a "fast" sound too it .. I've been told by friends that it sounds like a "porsche", and one guy said it sounds like a "formula one race car" lol. I've never gotten anything but compliments on the sound.

I have another vid, I can't remember if I posted it, of a 0-50 run WITH traction.

They sound really good in the lower rpm range, then by the time you hit the upper range, the intake and engine take over. So you get good sound throughout. They look really nice up close too. My only complaint is that the tips could be just a little wider. From about 30 feet away, they tend to look just a tad small in the exhaust cut outs.

yes thats exactly how they work Rock, its weird. Below 4K RPM you hear exhaust, then its like the exhaust just completely quiets down and you hear nothing but intake, and VTEC. Its weird, but I like it because you dont get any of that high end raspy loud annoying sound that the ricers have.

I think the Comptech exhaust has the best looking tips for the CL, it keeps the classy look. HKS and others look more like something I'd put on a Civic and even then I'd try to find something better looking. Other tips are just to plain without rolled type edges, but that's just my opinion. They do look small in the cutouts though because the cutouts are for oval-shaped tips.
