a new UNI CHIP review...

mines positive...put it in late 2 nights ago imediatly felt stronger, especially in VTEC...so last night i goto my local 1/8th...10* hotter and much more humid than the week before...no better times...9.0 last week 8.9 but my tires are going south quick couldnt get better than a 2.1 60' but...was running 1.5 M'sPH faster...BTW i used the B map the whole time...whereas i should have experimented with both...on the way home i took it really deep...there a bridge called a causeway theyre flat ish...anyway two bike started bringing the speed up but were 3 cars + behind me at 100 i hit it and they followed...one came up pretty quick at about 130 but at 140 ish the other just wasnt really making up any ground...he gave the peice sign at his turn ...my CEL statring flashing slowly about the rate of the blinker...for say less than a minute as i slowly slowed down...i swithched to a map and the blinking stopped...i wonder now why it happened...and if maybe i had too much timing and might have even done better with A at the track...ive switched back to B and under WOT upto reasonable speeds no sign of the CEL...i figured huge load on the car at the same time the temps had dropped to 70* so at 140 ill bet the IAT was way down there

I can't remember, but I think the B switch is for 100 octane only while the A switch is for "normal" premium. Your car threw the CEL because you were on the wrong switch presumably.

It might, but that's why we have plug-n-play so that we can take it out in 10 min before we take it to the dealer.

It's a bitch to get in there though if you have big hands. Took me about 15 mins to install it the other day in evilone's car.

B Map was designed for 100+ octane due to the advanced timing. Use A on the street. Glad to hear you enjoy it.

JUST SO WE'RE CLEAR THE NOTES MAKE NO MENTION OF 100 OCT FOR MAP b JUST THAT YOUR CAR MAY NOT RESPOND POSITIVLY TO IT based on more timing cauing deto...blah,blah

I understand this, but after talking with UniChip and during the discussions of the original thread it was stated that 100+ octane is reccomended to prevent the ECU from pulling timing.

I am also trying to sell mine. I had it installed for a couple 1000 miles with no issues. Let me know if anyone is interested. I have it in the original box with all of the paperwork.

Can I install this chip without any other mods? I saw where someone said its $250 for the chip. I wouldn't mind making this my 1st modification, especially since its plug&play.
