new TL question

okay guys I need your opinion on a couple things about the new TL: my dad works for Honda of America(Anna Engine plant) so he can hook me up with killer deals on about all Acuras and Hondas

so in a year or 2 I need to phase out my Accord. I keep it as my winter beater.

now here's the 2 questions
#1. Do I really want a 6 speed? I LOOOOOOOOVE to autocross so I'm leaning toward the 6 speed but at the same time I'm worried I won't like it because I'm used to driving an automatic. I can drive a stick. We live in the country and most of my travel is either back roads or Interstate(which VERY rarely is congested to stop and go traffic) so I'm not worried about being stuck in traffic with a stick.

#2. Is the "A-spec" package worth what Honda/Acura is asking for it. I've heard mixed reviews. it's like 5 or 6 grand package (but i can probably get it cheaper because of dad) but i'm not sure if it's worth it.

I'm not exactly sure what the whole package for the "A spec" is.
I know the full "body kit" (front body spoiler, side ground effects, and rear molding around the muffler)
spoiler(either lip or wing)(which i'll go wing for sure)
and I think a special set of rims( I Think 18s but i could be wrong)
someone help me out if they know about the A-spec
thanks guys

I dont think traffic creates a problem for the 6 speed even if you get out of the middle of nowhere and find some cars.

a-spec is not worth anything.

I don't think the A spec is worth that much either... I wouldn't pay more than 1500$ for that.

I have a 2003 cls 6-speed, and before I had a 2001cls automatic. Unless you really hate manuals, you'll love it. It's incredible... don't worry, you won't regret it. It makes the car 10 times better.

And people, correct me if I'm wrong but on the manual TL, you must get the limited slip (like on the CL) and it makes the front drive much more enjoyable.

for what the dealer is asking for the a-spec package..it definitely is not worth it..all you get are a few suspension upgrades and some minor appearance tweaks if i remember correctly..but if you can get major hookups like you mentioned, i would say go for it

i believe the a-spec is around 8k? someone correct me if im wrong..but depending on how much you get a discount for, getting the package might be appealing

6 Speed =

A -Spec = :thumbsdn:

It costs 5k plus installation. It gives suspension/body kit and rims plus a stupid new steering wheel. Is actually worth it if you really want all those things(on a cost basis) but if you just want one or 2 of them it is pretty dumb. Plus you aint going to get anywhere near the amount it costs back when you trade in/sell
