I dont know about u guys but i cant stand the solaro. The new one is even worse. All it looks like they did was mix the new es300 with the sc430. Wtf are they thinking. The absolute worst thing is when someone tells you your car looks like a solaro or asks is that a solaro? Wanna go stab them in the face.

 

From Shellys_tsx--I do understand that I'm comparing apples to oranges but I work for Acura and my bf works for honda. I get can good deals on either car. You see? Those are the only two cars that get my attention.

Saw one in person the other day. Looked a bit weird from the outside. That interior shot does look nice however.

 

that car is hideous!! the lines in the front r completely overexagerated. the side of it looks like a first gen Tiburon, and the back of it looks like a SC430 wannabe.
interior is decent
id much rather have the first solaras, with the simple tailllights... ive seen em kitted up, not bad.

Sure the trunk is really funny looking but the Solara is still much better looking, inside and out, then the Accord coupe.

so it's a supra and most people would sell their sister for a tt supra with low miles. Try to be more open minded and judge the car on it's merits and not on who made it.

 

I traded a 99 Solara in on my 01 CLS--in 2000 (I hated the Solara). The CL is a WAY better car, hands down. From the moment I saw the spy photos of the new Solara I thought "hyundai Tiburon".

I saw it a few weeks ago at a local dealer and thought the same thing. My thought was that I'd be really pissed if I were a SC430 owner.

My other thought was that for $26K and $4k in mods I could have a SC430 beater at half the price . . . :P

And to top it off they are coming our with a drop top . . . hum.

Presumably, Toyota will offer a TRD package (sport suspension, supercharger, etc,...) for the current Solara like the 1G Solara. I guess that ought to make it somewhat competitive...with and Eclipse GT-S maybe.
