New rotors and pads needed

Hey guys,

I just returned from a deployment to my brakes being on their way out. I need a replacement asap and after some research I wanted to see what the general consensus was for solid rotors. I want something that will be a bit better than oem in terms of durability and resistance to warping. Should I go with the xlr8 stoptechs? Also drilled vs slotted vs blanks, I cant remember which is better out of the drilled or slotted, I know its basically unnecessary for these cars but I wouldn't mind the looks if it wont hurt. What pads should I look at, I have stop tech pads in there now and they aren't too bad but are there better pads?

Thanks all, and its good to be back!

Check out forum vendor HeelToe great guy to work with!! After a lengthy discussion I'm getting a set of Racingbrake ET500. The truth is that an internally vented rotor will crack or break before it with warp. The pulsation or shaking that is felt comes from the pad transferring to the rotor when the pads are over heated. So a brake pad is needed that can operate under heaver loads and hotter conditions. With the OEM brakes on this car drilled or slotted rotors really will not help solve the problem, but they do look cool. Some people complain about slotted rotors being noisy.

I have had good luck with Raybestos HD rotors and ceramic pads in the past. I have recently purchased Power Stop Brake Kit drilled and slotted for the wife's TSX, but have yet to install and test. Good luck!

I use EBC ultimax slotted rotors and ebc green stuff pads. Been working great for the past 5+ years and i'm upgrading to russell braided steel brake lines for a better pedal feel

I would highly recommend our XLR8 brake packages. These Acurazine brake packages are designed to improve braking performance and durability at a reasonable price. The packages include Powerslot/STOPTECH performance rotors and STOPTECH Performance pads. All of the rotors have a black e-coating on the hubs and vanes and an advanced alloy composition. The Powerslot slotted rotors for the front of most Acuras also have a Power Alloy composition and a curved vane construction, which helps reduce heat in the brake system. The STOPTECH Performance pads are a para-aramid compound, which has great initial bite and long-term performance and lower dust and noise than most aftermarket brake pads.

If you need something even more aggressive I would recommend the STOPTECH 2 piece discs in the front. But those are about $650 for the pair. PM me for more info.
