No change yet, I've been pretty busy with some other things at the moment. One being to remove and put back completly stock my other cl. I've also been considering what class to run the thing in. Modified or Quick16, both would be fun. Who can shed some light on modified? I've got the nhrarule book, but can't find too much info on the 1/4mile times. From what I have found, I don't think this motor will produce the power needed to compete due to the lack of r$d on parts. Quick16 may be a better alternative from a pocketbook point of view. I did get the heads back for the motor that's to go in the car. They are limited on what can be done without reinventing the wheel. we'll eventually see.

it'll take alot of work and money to get a car to run faster than 8.99. especially a car that was never meant to be rwd. you are deffinatly doing the unimaginable.

allout,, all the chambers were cc'd and are equal. he polished them up just a little as they were pretty equal out of the box.
o1s,,yeah, it will take a lot to run mid 8's which is why i'm going for mid 9's, that is much more affordable and doable with this motor. modified is out of my league, so i'll be content with a moderatly fast car
who can tell us about modified

I started to rip the car down and let me say, it's quite the undertaking. I'm removing the parts that seem valuable carefully for resale in the black market. https://acurazine.com/forums/car-parts-sale-361/fs-2001-cl-type-s-part-out-100s-parts-370282/
I hope to have it stripped down over the next few weeks then it's off to the "chassis man".

Just wanted to add that ThinJim's turbo kit is up for sale in the black market. I thought I could make it fit on a 1st gen chasis, but our subframes are no where near similar. Here's the link for this t-kit.

I figured I'd check my backlog of PM's which have gone unanswered for over three years.
Actually, it was partially due to wanting to find out what has become of all the parts which made their way around including this turbo kit. I also wanted to find the old dyno plots of the GT35 turbo on the J32A2 and what the boost threshold was.

The tunnel fully encloses the drive shaft, (a two piece tunnel) and pretty much runs right by the drivers seat. I can almost use it for an armrest. The tunnel itself is about 4 ft long. There is no current picture of the fabricated tunnel.
What kind of car are you playing with these days? A while back I was lurking about in the I believe it was an Audi forum, and you were doing something there, but lost track.
Anyway, here are a few pics that may give you an idea of the space it takes up. In the stock CL, just picture a tranny and drive shaft in place of the stock console, that's pretty much like it is.

First off, welcome back! Hope it's not just a touch and go, but none the less, it's good to see you back a while.

Are you using the J32A2, the ports look like it but can't see enough of the engine to be sure. I do hope as I always felt the engine has great potential. With that powerglide I would assume a fairly high stall; are you increasing the revs? I suppose I am really interested in the engine and controls for it but overall, want to see what transpires. This is fantastic and I am envious of the current results and build.
As for cars, once again I have been through some. Yes, I had a Audi B5 S4 after selling the CL-S. I also concurrently picked up an M Roadster for a while, but my wife felt a 3rd vehicle wasn’t truly needed to which I ended up agreeing. The S4 ended up being upgraded, big surprise, to make just shy of 400 WHP and 420 WTQ. But it was sold as well.
I currently have a '07 335i which has mild modifications for the time being. But they are enough to pull 12.7's. I suppose I am getting old as I just do not have as much drive to modify as much. I have had a set of downpipes sitting on my workbench for several months which I feel is a shame.
Anyway, great to hear from you and I will eagerly watch this continued build.

I will have to stay around some now just to follow the progress of this awesome project. I definitely like the transmission plate and I do see a large liquid/air IC in the 3rd image.

I'll answer that, quite simply... no. different transmission attachment points. one possibility would be to have a plate between the motor and trans to make it fit. If you were to use a 3/8'' plate, in theory, you'd have to shave 3/8'' off the bellhousing of the the tranny to keep the clutch happy. then of course, you'd have to do something about the ecu and or crank and cam sensors on the j37.

The new TL is certainly intriguing and something I will need to drive; in 6MT trim of course. But is is certainly nice to have something with forced induction from the factory.
BTW, it is great to see so many familiar names in here.
