The new Neon

Dodge is going to start selling a turbo-charged Neon from the factory, check out

this article

0-60 in 5.9 and under $20,000 isn't a bad deal at all, even if it is a Dodge

*really hopes Acura has a few tricks up its sleeve*

Tuning this with basic bolt ons, will bring this engine to 300HP-350Hp easy. After traction is gained, this thing will be a rocket. Too bad AWD is not an option. Dont forget that this is a 2.4 liter engine which means, theoritically, there is more potential for power than the engines in the WRX, old DSMs, etc. Depending on how strong the stock bottom end is, this might be a thing of beauty to uptune.

Its also a shame that that neon will rock our CL's world on a street. Can see it now, "Lost to Neon " over in the racing forum.

there is a guy that lives in my area with a dropped 01' neon, it looks way better with the ass tucked down about 3 inches. i never understood why they are shaped like wedges.

YES, that thing is going to KICK ASS like my little Dodge Omni GLH-S Turbo did back in 1987.
That car had a 5-Speed and 174 horsepower in a little body that weighed like 2,500 pounds.
I used to have fun terrorizing Mustangs & Camaro’s that were caught off guard.

What ever happened to the TWO DOOR neon?
I think this package would have been even BETTER in that car.

Its gonna be fairly limited with only 5000 going into production. Still a lot of bang (performance wise) for the buck.

It seems to me that the designers for the new neon wasn't creative at all.

"Hey maybe we'll just convert the WRX front alittle and slap it onto the new neon and say it is ours."

That car is ugly, the front looks even worse than the wrx. As fast as it is off the lines, it'll hit the service dept even faster. Just like the focus svt recall, I envision plenty of recalls and problems for this car.

I don't care if it had 350 HP i wouldn't buy it.#1 cause it's a Dodge and I had a Dodge Truck that was POS. #2 my friend with a 1/2 ton 4x4 Chevy pickup hit a guy with a newer style neon(not the brand new style but it was a neon) AT 35-40 MPH and basically put the trunk in the backseat. they said if anyone would have been in the backseat they would have ATLEAST been seriously injuried. Everyone walked away okay thank goodness. but that Neon in the graveyard
Plus as I say MOPAR=More Orginal Parts Are Replaced

I saw it two weeks ago at an SAE meet. The car will be made by Performance Vehicle Operations (PVO) group. It looked acutally good in life than the picture. They are the sampe people that are working on the 03 viper.

They are trying to compete with the SVT people, and the rest of the rice rockets out there (as it was said by their team leader )

That CT SC is lookin' mighty good about now. I guess $4500 USD is the price I'll have to pay to keep my pride intact.:P

Who cares? Just because its fast doesn't mean shit to me. I've been beaten by turboed Civics and if I get beat by a this new neon big deal. At the end of the day I'm in a fully loaded Acura he's in a POS Neon.
