new navi-dvd issue?

I went to go order my new dv and saw this on the dvd website.
Anyone know what this means?
Being this is just a dvd disc I dont see what other "software" it has to be compatible with. I apologize if this has been posted already...I dont read this board daily. I didnt see anything in recent topics

Sales of the new upgrade disc (2.11b for the 2000, 2001, 2002 and 2003 models, except the 2003 MDX) have been suspended to correct compatibility with previous versions of the software. Your continued satisfaction is very important to us, and we appreciate your patience while we resolve this problem. If you received an announcement of the new upgrade 2.11b, please disregard that notice.

Starting December 9th, we will take orders on-line for the new upgrade disc 2.11c, which will ship in late January. To place your order by phone, call 1-888-291-4675 between 7 a.m. and 11 p.m. Central Standard Time, and select option 1.

Thank you for understanding and allowing us to deliver the highest quality product to you.

It seems like this “rev c” just impacts people looking to easily go BACK to the previous version.
I don’t plan to do that, and except for a few minor complaints mine is running just fine.

I think this may have something to do with a problem that I am experiencing at this time. I have a problem with the new DVD in that it does not allow access any previous destinations, even if I enter a new address, go to that address, it still will not show as a previous destination. The people at Alpine were very helpful and advised that a patch CD would be available in January to fix the problem. They advised that they were able to replicate the problem with their software and will immediately start on a fix.

Besides what Davidtec said, what's are the issues?

I know there is an entire subdivision that is unverified on my map and the subdivision is at least 5-6 years old.

I know I'm posting the same thing in two threads, but here goes:

I just received this reply to my email concerning 2.11c for those of us that already have 2.11b:
You will receive the next disc as soon as it becomes available which is
anticpated by the end of January 2004.
There is no additional sign up or action needed on your part to receive
this disc.

The problem some consumers are experiencing revolve around storing &
retrieval of previous addresses. Some consumers cannot access the
"Previous Address" screen or can access it but there are no addresses
stored there.

Thank you for understanding and allowing us to deliver the highest quality
product to you.
I did notice the Previous Address listing was empty, but I thought I just hadn't refilled it yet.

I just checked out my 'Previous Address' screen, and it doesn't work as was stated the the email I received from Alpine. Bummer.

I'll be looking towards my mail.
