I just read an Ad in ( April issue of ) Turbo Mag that SPW is now having new JDM Honda Type-S performace parts. I saw Headers and stuff. I checked their Site and it is not up yet.

What is Honda JDM? Is it the Japanese Division of Honda?

Type S refers to the prelude. And for you cali guys, none of JDM headers will pass emissions.

The only JDM Type-S is a Prelude. It has all wheel drive. The USDM Prelude is available with the Type SH package.

 

That's right. That seems to be the big thing now with prelude upgrades. Everyone is advertising Type-S parts, but they're not talking about the CL.

Didn't know the Prelude Type-S had AWD though... Wonder what's keeping it from getting the Type-R designation?

The JDM Prelude Type S has FWD, like all other Preludes. It's basically a Prelude Type SH with a massaged, higher output engine a la Integra Type R, w/220hp@7000rpm. However, it features none of the lightening, structural reinforcements, and special performance/track tuning that would otherwise make it a "Type R." Here's some technical info on the extra 20-25hp over the "regular" Prelude engines.
