new here, just bought a type-s

hi everyone im new here/to the acura community. a few days ago i bought a silver 03 cl type-s 6sp with 50k miles for 14grand down from 15k. they guy took a grand off because it needs a new front bumper because he got in a little fender bender. theres no mechanical/structural damage, just cosmetics. all in all i love the car so far and have no complaints(knock on wood) im coming from a rwd 96 bmw 328is 5sp so it took a little gettin used to a bigger car and mostly fwd. the powerband is smooth(love it when v-tec kicks in) the sunspension is smooth, the interior is simple and roomy, the seats are like butter. i also like the fact that its a 4 seater, just another excuse to not have to haul around all your friends. so far all i've done to it is threw in my pioneer n3 navi. as far as mods go i want to keep it simple and give it a clean look. probally going to de-badge the rear emblems and just leave the A in the middle. smoke the red part of the tails. the car already has tinted windows(20% i think) going to drop it and now im looking for a nice simple set of wheels(those ronjon wheels are startin to grow on me)im lookin but can find a black mesh front grill. and when i get the front bumper fixed im going to add foglights and throw hids in them. going to use 5k in the fogs and headlights. and as for the headlights i want to get the amber reflectors cleared. now dont bash on me just yet for this because im a newb nd i bet i wont even do it, but in the spirit of coming from owning a bimmer i thought about retro-fitting CCFL angel eyes into the head lights, but like i said i bet i wont do it. as far as performance goes the cars pretty qucik for a DD. mayb if anything i'd want a little more top end in like 4th gear on. im not a big fan of exhausts because me and the law arent exactly on the same page, so im probally justing going to go with a CT CAI, because thats what seems everyone has here, and also the headers for some growl. also i've been looking for mayb a chip or cams to help with the top end. well its getting late and thats all i can think of for now

its cool man, i was thinking about putting angel eyes in mine too... thought about it for all of 10 minutes and wrote it off... just dont think it would look too good, maybe if we had dual projector headlights, but if u do it i wouldnt mind seeing some pics to see the turnout. GL

if sure if it was done right it wouldnt look that bad, might look outa place on an acura. the thing is they have to be CCFL and not LED angel eyes. idk to me nothing looks hotter than a bimmer with hids in the fogs and just the angel eyes on. its such a mean/clean look. again idk if i have the time/know-how to get it done. im gunna send an e-mail to umnitza(the company that most bmw enthusiasts use for angel eyes) and see if they can come up with some sort of kit.

i already have it set up, i was going to put em in my J30 but it died last week, my LED's came in the mail the other night, and i already have the acrylic rods molded drilled, cut, and ready but i'm not gunna put em in the cl till i see someone else's and it looks nice. too much time, and pretty tedious process to make look good

Welcome to AZ man! Nice price for the car being the bumper is the only thing it needs and only has 50k miles/6 speed. Good luck on finding a CT Icebox though, seem to be hard to come by now that CT is going out of business. I have an AEM CAI and I personally love it. Anyway, definitely get the headers and it'll be plenty fast. Enjoy!

ok umnitza just emailed me back and they said, "The CL is hard to do because of the strange shape of the lights. If you can take it apart, we can probably assist you."

welcome, and angel eyes are nice.. on bimmers.. but i don't think it'll look good on a CL.

as for your plans on mods, it's in the right place. take time to familiarize yourself with the FAQ in GreenMachine's sig.

sorry guys i've been busy lately and havnt had time to get on the site. no new pics because my camera is now broken. birthdays in 15 days and thats the only thing i asked for so hopefully i'll have some pics up soon. umm, quick question, i took the resonator out and i was just wondering if it could harm anything? other than that everythings going good with the car. one thing that i noticed is that theres a lot of glare on the windshield from the dash. not really a big problem, just kinda annoying. i thought about what would happen if i had the dash covered in suede, but then i'd probally have fading problems.
