nice, but no good without a step-by-step of the process and a list of materials...

That looks really nice. I actually did the same thing for mines, only I don't have the emblem attached to the front. How did you attach the emblem? BTW either I'm seeing things or does it look like someone was testing it's flexibility-it's noticeable on the second pic, on the right-hand corner. As if someone pushed it with their thumb or something...

Here's the material i used:

http://www.mcmaster.com/

1 EA 9232T131 - Aluminum Perforated $27.61 EA $27.61 today
Sheet 36" X 40", .1875" Hole
Dia, 51% Open Area, .032" Thk

yeah i just noticed that in the right corner too, hmm wonder what i did, as far as mounting the "A" I just cut two small holes behind the "A" and mounted in it's stock location and screwed it in as it was before. If i can do this anyone can.

I actually painted it with high temp paint, i should have used a primer but i didn't think about it till afterwards, plus i sprayed on about 6 layers so i should be good.

Hey Hay I like it. I did mine too. What i did different was remove that inner plastic that housed the other chrome piece that is no longer there. It took a lot of time and precision but it really came out nice. just an idea.......

Hey gbone88, How did you remove that inner black piece where the emblem originally screws into? I did my grille as well, also with super precision. My old grille was broken so I used it as a blue print for the new one that's on the way. I used the chrome outline for the job. It took me a while but it's not going to move a centimeter. What I did was, and unless you guys have a spare grille don't try it because you're basically ruining it. I took the chrome piece after I had the shape cut out and broke off all screw sockets and clips on it. I then aligned the cut-out directly on top of it and made sure that it was symmetrical on all sides. Then I carefully cut around all the sockets and holes that I broke off. Now all I have to do is wait for the new one to arrive and it should fit precisely. It was a long process but I just wanted for it to look clean.
