New to the forums....gotta question..

Right now I'm debating between a Supra TT or a CL Type S...My question is....how is that new 6 speed that came out?..Is it pretty responsive?...I test drove the CL Type S auto and that was pretty boring to drive...I'm hoping the new 6 speeds have more kick and are more responsive, but I haven't had a chance to test drive it yet...so if you can provide me some insight on this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
TKO

i would personally go with a brand new car

especially the 6 speed cl-s.

but a used supra TT

NOW that is something to consider

muscle

vs

everything else

go for the supra TT

u wont be hungry for power anymore

These two cars aren't even in the same category... If you have the money for a used Supra TT, get it! If you want to save a bunch of money but still have a sporty, fun-to-drive car, get the CL. Um... no, screw that... get the Supra.

If you find a Supra TT for the price of a CL, buyer beware...

No offense to anyone...but I am so tired of seeing supras everywhere! Every kid out here has one plastered in vinyl with a 3 foot aluminum wing.

Get something with a warranty!

A Supra would be nice, but buying a used sportscar is rather risky, IMHO. Who knows how it's been driven in the past.

supra

Same argument everyone else has...used or new? Warranty or worry? If you plan on hyping the engine anyway the CL-s is not your best bet. There are plenty of cars out there that have superchargers, turbos, headers available and at lower costs than for the CL. The CL is FWD and heavy, the supra TT is neither. I haven't seen (and i have been looking for several months) a Supra tt 94-96 6spd with under 50K miles for less than $20K in good condition. Ever since Fast and Furious the price has skyrocketed....its like the INTERNET companies, one day your investment will shit on you....it's your choice the argument is as clear as day.....good luck!

Two different cars.

Do you want speed, handling, and sexy looks? If so get the Supra TT!

If you want semi luxury, good car service get the CLS!

the 6MT is not a sports car. It's a sporty luxury coupe. the TT Supra IS a sports car...

the 6MT is not a turd compared to other 6CYL's in it's class. It's pretty quick, and holds its own for being a naturally aspirated 6CYL.

Sounds like the 350Z is a better match for you. But hell I would drop 1$ on a car I can't test drive yet. Nissan doens't have a great history for quality in thier cars per. production numbers.

You can put $1400 in bolt ons in the Supra and put it in the 12's easy.

LOL, you don't want to know how much it would cost to do that to the Acura (without NOS) And the ammount of spare trannys you would need.

I would get the Supra, and buy a small honda as a daily driver

At the moment the Supra has a great re-sale. And your going to pickup more chickys in it

I sure like mine. I couldn't hang with an automatic and waited a year and a half for the 6-speed. I've had it for six weeks and it's a pleasure to drive for any reason. Comfortable, nice handling, and gets up and moves when I just have the itch.

I can't get into automatics--too disconnected from the driving experience for me. The CL-S auto was uninspiring, but so was the G35 and the 330ci autos (no manual available yet for the G35, and just no manuals to be had in the 330ci--but the 330ci did handle nice; wasn't crazy about the G35 steering). To me, the CL 6-speed tranny has good performance and a natural feel. It's close-ratio, so you go thru the gears pretty quickly in hard acceleration.

You'd probably get a lot more 6-speed drivers chiming in with comments if the thread subject had "6-speed" in it-. So far, I haven't seen any 6-speed owners that weren't enthusiastic about their car. Shawn S has a 6-speed and previously owned a CL-S auto, so he could say more about the difference in performance.

Wow one of us should make a movie and put the CL type-s (satin silver) in a Phat movie so they raise the stragling resale value on our cars!
