I wouldnt waste the extra money on OEM if we have to hack them up to make them fit...just doesn't make sense. Get the ebay ones. I'm sure OEM are more than $50, too.

I think a lot of ppl are going to order these and expect them to fit w/minimal effort. Mine are on the way, but I checked out an 04 Accord coupe and side by side compared our bumper slots to the accords bumper slots... It's a pretty big difference. Overall the shape is virtually the same but on a larger scale for the accord.

Just to ask, has anyone ever thought about custom modding the 03 inserts to house a projecter style fog lamp and then either A) mount a lense to the front of the insert to protect the bulb, or B) just leaving it open.

I figure this would take probably just as much work as modding the accord lights, but at least you know they would fit perfect.

I couldn't agree more but props to the OP for doing such a project. However, judging from the pic, it looks like it doesn't quite fit right, although I'm sure anyone with time and effort can make them fit nicely. But the other thing that concerns me is the light output and angle of light distribution. We need pics at night. Hopefully those who have bought the kits with show how they did it.

Secondly, I have thought about doing exactly what you said ljmushock. Buy some H3 (or D2S) 50mm Projectors, (2inch) and custom mount into the stock 03 inserts. I'd leave the vents though, and place them adjacent to them. I'd would probably also use lexan as a cover for protection. Only thing stopping me is time and money. Is really worth it ? kinda deal....blah. sorry for the hijack

Fuzzy did on his car i believe, i kinda like the look of these accord ones better. I think projector fogs look a little ricey for our car. Check out fuzzys and ask him what he did, i think he put projectors inside the inserts.

i'll have better pictures after i move the other car, but this is the lexan over '03 inserts. i did a quick job (and you can see fraying on the edges where i cut the lexan) but it can be cleaned up very easily. attached via GE silicone II (the stuff you would use on headlights)

projector is the hella micro DE
and yes, they're very dirty.

fuzzy mounted some PIAA's inside of his housings but IMO they don't look good cause they're tilted and very small.

Interesting idea with your lexan covers there. They would deinitly look better if you take the time to clean them up. could you put the stock foglight covers over them? that might look even better, or maybe some yellow tint to your lexan, just an idea.

Yea im not a fan of the piaa style lights, at least for this car. It definitly looks better with something a little more factory loking and you seem to be on the right track, as well as everyone with these accord lights.

That's what she said

Small I agree with but they are very functional in the rain. I am going to re do them someday. With what I'm not sure yet. I have the wiring in place,so all I need is to fab something up.

Look nice. I have a friend that has done a yellow light theme a couple times with past cars. Liked it on the Dinan 3 but not as much on the Mustang.

Can't see them very well in this shot.

the bmw looks sick but a lot of that is because of its color. I like the golden yellow look, but on my ride im just doing the fogs that way.

Thats pretty much exactly what I had in mind... It kinda looks like the protective film was never peeled off the lexan? It sucks you can see the glue lines too where it meets the insert.

May I ask what kind of tool you used to cut the lexan? I may take a stab at this

The BMW is a special color offered by Dinan called Pyrite (which means fools gold). The car's rear plate said PYRITE. He recently sold the car and moved on to a new project.

if you take your time it will look a lot nicer. i just wanted it done cause it was the first stab at it, and to protect my projector lenses. i used a dremel with a cutoff wheel but you should use the plastic cutting attachment instead (didn't have it at the time). the edges are frayed because i used a grinding wheel and it melted the edges as it heats up when it grinds the lexan. and yes, the protective plastic is peeled off.
you should also use a torch and bend the lexan. the 03 insert is not flat.
cost: $10 (lexan 11"x14" sheet), '03 inserts (can be free), GE silicone II ($5-$8)

So my fogs came in today! Gonna take off my bumper and start dremeling! One problem is how should i go about connecting the fogs? Should i cut into my corner lenses, so that when i turn my corners on the foggy's turn on too?

The H11 bulb starts at 50 watts I believe. If its plastic then it will melt.

There should be no housing melt going on if they are stock lights. They are designed that way.

So much for the HID's then eh? I mean what's the point of putting them in if it's going to melt the housing? Has anyone successfully put in HID's with this set up yet?

in response to the 50w hid kit, it can/will melt the housing.

35w is fine, that will be safe, unsure on 50w.

plus hid in a non-projector housing.... meh...

Ordered mine last night. Does anyone know how much cutting is involved on the light housing and how it mounts to the bumper?
