New Cupholder

For everyone that's ever had a drink fall over in our crappy cupholder...

Acura Dealer: Part # 77237-S0K-A02. List price: 4.28. It's a replacement for the retarded shallow plastic piece of shit that came with the 01-02 models.

It changed my life.

Thats all.

Ha ha...very funny!

My cupholder is fine but that lame ass "door" that closes over the cupholders doesn't shut!

Thanks! I'm calling the dealership right now I hate our shallow cup holders. They are pretty much useless.

Nice. Apparently the price isn't at all uniform. $6.66. Oh well.

I think the 02-03's have sliding doors wheras the 01's have spring loaded "flipout" doors. As for the inside I don't know the difference.

^^ Picture of old POS (top) and new replacement (bottom).

Its just the part that goes inside the cupholder, not the entire assembly. The sliding cover is made only for the 6spd CL, 03 also had the push-button flip open. The entire assembly is different to make room for the handbrake.

I might order one just to see if it's even possible to make it fit for that price. Thanks for posting the pic.

Yeah...I'm glad evan03CL asked because the first I heard this thread I really didn't understand there being a difference.

Thank you disgruntlednut for posting that pic.

It's clear now that the older version licks donkey nutz.

disgrunteldnut-- thanks for posting the pic! http://www.wizardsworks.org/chod/acu...cupholder1.jpg

I also did this "mod" for my 2nd gen '00 CL-S. I had to file down the two tabs in the front to make a clean fit. It works and looks much better!

My '01 came with the new cupholder. I haven't had experience with the old one, but the new one isn't too great either.

The "deep" holder has two sizes as it goes down, one is too big for most cups/bottles/cans, and the next one is too small.

Most of the time I end up using the lip of the compartment to hold drinks in a sort of halfway-falling-down position, or if you've got two drinks, they'll hold each other in place.

Someone with artsy skills get on one of those CNC websites and have them machine a bunch of cupholders that don't suck.
