I was going through magazine rack @ Mitsuwa (Japanese store, Costa Mesa), and saw a Honda coupe that looks like a TL w/ sh-awd, around 300 hp. Have anybody heard if this or seen it? Could this be the new Acura CL?

I have 'heard' that there is a coupe coming.... trying to wangle a picture from Honda

 

sounds the the new 3.5RL..but coupe? hmm lets cross our fingers

 

I'm dying to know what and when Acura has a new coupe coming. I've already started researching and shopping G35 coupes cause Acura has said nothing, not even any real rumors, spys, etc. Usually you hear something at least a year before the model comes out. The G35 is looking very sweet with prices on the 03s and 04s not too bad if you shop and the 06 will be out in a few months.

It would not suprise me if we did not hear anything about a the new CL until 2006, with a 2007 release.

 

I can wait awhile.. I'm really growing to like my CLS when I look at other new cars out there (g35c, mustang, etc)...

It will be interesting to see what Acura without having a coupe in the lineup...

 

The CLS is great esp my 6 speed version, but it is a 5 year old design. What is Acura waiting for? The money is rolling in from the TSX and TL sales which is great. The new BMW 3 coupe will be out in a year, the new Lexus IS coupe will be out in 1-2 years, the new G35 coupe will be out in 07.
But not a hint of a new Acura coupe...

 

I agree, even the new fully loaded accords have more features then our CLs

 

And even the Accord coupe is getting some style tweaking cause Honda is responding to complaints about the blandish styling, esp the rear...remind you of another familiar car???

 

It's my understanding that Acura discontinued CL production line due to shortage in sales. Now, I don't know about you guys, but I don't believe those big corporate ppl would consider generating another coupe line after seeing its miserable failure with previous model. I guess, this is why I'm not really looking forward to another coupe rather than RSX from Acura.

yea the main reason the cls didnt sell well i think is kuz its front wheel drive.. with a awd i think it would do alright.. maybe 330hp or something would be awsome tho..

Maybe Acura is waiting for the FMC (full model change) of the TL to introduce a new coupe ??

Oh yuck, it's got the RL butt. the front is too dramatic and the rear is too boring, another Accord.

looks more like a 2 door RL than a 2 door coupe based off the TL platform as originally stated. that being said, i kinda like the back..but it should be made a little sleeker for the final version, it looks too sedan-ish...and yeah the front if pretty dramatic, but hopefully they'll fine-tune it. looks promising though

 

They should leave the front and change the back. The butt looks like a Mazda 626.

 

I hope it's not very accurate, actually looks like 2 different cars when you look at the indention in the side of both shots.

I think the 05 TL looks sportier than this coupe.
