New CL-S, BIRD SH*T damage on Hood

As everyone knows we had this massive blizzard in the NE on 2/16 so I parked my car at the front of the driveway so I wouldnt have to shovel the whole thing just to get the car out after the storm...well, of it gets bombed by bird poop really bad...but I didnt know it happened because it started snowing right after the bird attack. Now the bad news: It was four days later when I cleaned the car off and realized the bird poop had permantly stained/discolred the paint. Help guys with this I'm pissed ....

The berries and other stuff that birds eat act like Battery acid in their shit.......that's what leaves the mark.

Leaving a car in the sun really makes eat deep into the clearcoat.

Chances are if you already used some swirl remover, you'll probably have to get that spot wet sanded and polished.

Depending on how deep it is, clay may work.

If you are on good terms with a body shop, they should do the wet sanding for nothing.

ok thanks. its not that bad because I have the nighthawk black, but I will have to get it taken care of. My brother just told me to use that dupont white paste "rubbing compund' and gently try to blend it in with the surrounding paint areas. Its like three random spots about 2 inches diameter each. I'm going bird hunting tomorrow.

Ya this bird crap has got to my car. There are areas where the paint is cracking and some spots on the car that are permenately there. It is like a white spot on my black CL!

WHATEVER YOU DO, DO NOT USE RUBBING COMPOUND!!!

You will absolutely destroy the clear coat, no doubt in my mind.

You need something way less abrasive. In all honesty, you are not going to remove it completely, if it has been there more than a few hours, it has already eaten through our thin clear.

I would highly recommend going to a body shop and having them buff it out. It shouldn't be much to do.

If you insist on doing it yourself, try Meguiar's #2 Fine Cut Cleaner.
