New CL Owner
My name is Nathan and I live in PA. Just bought my 2002 Acura CL-S, for $6700. I bought last thursday, car has 112k. The previous owner changed the auto tranny at 95k. Always kept up with it. And there is only one other owner. I know these cars are prone to failure. He did leave me the tranny work paper, and is it true that if it goes out again and you have the paper would the dealership change it out for free? He also replaced the front motor mount and he put in a new interstate battery.
It is the nighthawk black. And I love this car to death, just thought I might join a forum to reflect the car. And it would be a good place to get suggestions on how to fix things.
Good Night

Well I don't have access to the photo gallery. I accidentally deleted the email that had the activation on it. I looked up the thread on how to post pictures. But I guess I can't do it now since I am not activated. A mod mind helping me out with this one?

Three Wheelin'
Congrats, and go ahead and toss a rear sway bar on it right away. Easy mod and for $115 bucks it completely changes the rear end feeling of the car, makes it feel more nimble and with barely any ride sacrifice.

I don't know for certain about the dealer replacement of the tranny.
I think the dealer would screw you on that...IMO...based on the the # of miles you have.
There is all the tranny FAQ's here...I would sit through this part of the forum and digest all the info. regarding the tranny.

And to post pictures...here is how to do that...it can be web based hosting.

I now drive an accord....
Nice
Etters here, but im in Mech multiple times a week
Also if you do have tranny issues and you go to bobby rahal don't deal with the service tech's as most of them won't help you. I normally go straight to jon miller who is the service manager. He generally will take good care of you.

I'm pretty sure your warrenty is up, u might get 12/12 from original date that the new tranny was put in! Im pretty sure that dude that sold you the car BS you. Change the tranny fluid every 30k and it sould last anouther 100k, I got my tranny replaced at 99K and currently have 160k and still shifting smooth, REMEMBER change the FLUID often!

Restored this in 1998
Service/owner manuals of older Honda products I owned recommended a trans fluid change and cylinder head valve check/adjustment every 15k miles.

Park Ave acura charges $120 and open road Acura charges $90 here in NJ.
Im gonna try Royal Purple Syntetic fluid next time, So i wonder how much they will charge if i bring my own fluid, prolly the same amount. I know the tech and when i did it I had 139k miles but only like 39k on new tranny and he said fluid was very dirty so im gonna change every 30k from now on.

Thanks for all the info guys. The car is a nighthawk black so I am sure you have seen many of those one here. It is bone stock, the guy I bought it off from put a K&N Filter in it that is one of those washable ones. I am thinking of putting on a AEM or Injen intake. Some headers and an exhaust and I will be just fine. I will look into that sway bar btw.
