New Addition to the Family

No, not a baby, or a dog, or any animal/mammal/reptile etc.

Its an 03 Acura CL and she is now mine.

Making me an "official" member of AZ! (Which is funny because my last forum membership was also AZ = AudiZine )

After my wonderful slew of test drives and such it was between this and a TT. The TT had way too many problems and I didn't feel like inheriting them all. So, for a solid DD platform with low miles and a great price I chose this. I do miss Quattro though...I'm having withdrawals. Coming from owning an S4, an A6 and now this I do feel the difference, but alas, noooo biggie.

Debadged it about 5 min after I drove it home. Tint+Drop+Wheels coming soon.

lol thanks!

Yeah I know...CL-P = slow.

Had a Stg III S4 and this thing is...well..you get the picture.

I've grown up since then and decided I needed something reliable. That word and B5 S4's never go together in the same sentence. It was time for a comfortable DD and I'm convinced I made the right choice. My wallet is going to feel a hell of a lot better too since the damn mod fairy doesn't have the same charm she used to.

Anthracite is TEH FASTARRRR! If you didn't already know...

Eh, it really doesn't make a difference to me.

I've been driving sticks forever and I've recently moved to an area that has shitty traffic and congestion = no fun. Not to mention my wallet needs a break for a while and I know I would go absolutely bonkers with mods had I gotten a typeS. Feels good to be only a 'Semi' poor college student haha. Thankfully I don't have to worry about the tranny shitting the bed on me so I've actually been reading up and will probably put in an order for some headers and hfc tonight. Trying to get a nice sounding exhaust without changing the stock mufflers.

you should be fine then. i bought my P december 2005 from an older woman w/ 42k on the clock. now i have 74025, and no problems [breaking my hand knocking on wood], but i take care of her.

headers help tyhe most, and then you need Cold Air Intake to balance that and you're fine. thats what i did, not for crazy power, but to pass a little better and yeah, better sound. now if only we could get our hands on a discontinued Comptech B-pipe. o well.

and for some reason im past trying to mod like crazy a only somewhat fast car, so ill save for my big plans of the future. read my sig above.

good luck with it and enjoy her!

Yeah I figured. A catback exhaust is pointless for my purposes and I don't care much for the look of most of the axle-backs. Figured I could just get new headers and gut the stock cat and see what happens. As for CAI I'm probably going to get a short-ram and cut a hole so it can eat up gobs and gobs of air.

Coming from VAG cars I'm used to CAI's not doing anything (fking heat soak)

Well, the S4 was in baaaaad condition when I got her and I had to put in an assload of money to get her where I wanted her. The A6 was a hand-me-down I got after my S4 took a dump. TiP collapses and water-pump failures ftl.

Contrary to what might have been in your mind when you read that I had an S4, I am NOT some little stuck up rich kid who nags mommy and daddy for shit. I just happen to be fortunate enough to have a good paying job.

^^^Not like they are really expensive cars. I had a 2000 A6 and 2001.5 S4.

You can pick those up in decent condition for about 9k-11k and 12k-14k respectively. I got lucky.

The only real pita is the maintenance. And if you have any mechanical prowess or knowledge and a good set of tools + friends alot of it can be done for less $.

Hahaha no worries.

I'm picking up some Flik Lex's tomorrow and I'm working on getting a drop so we'll see how that works out. The rims are anthracite and depending on how they look I might just powdercoat them black to match the upcoming window + tailight tint. Plan on only tinting the top of the tails though..

Costco uses them here too. i thought that it meant you had a mixture of nitrogen for the air filled in the tires?

I've decided its going to stay relatively stock for a long, long, time.

Green caps mean the tires are filled with nitrogen. My CL-S has them as well. Nice car!
