New Accord Coupe is FAST!
the car is a head turner no doubt about it .
i think what holds this car from being a fast car is the tranny problems that acura/honda can't solve.
maybe if their engineers go over to nissian and learn how to build one we might see a cl or tl with over 300 horses.

Here's a couple of scenarios for you guys, see if you can relate.......
1) CL/TL guy and Accord guy pull up to a club, both hit on some chick and ask to take her home... who do you think the chick will go home with?
2) CL/TL guy and Accord guy both have important business lunches to go to w/ the boss.... Boss doesn't want to drive, so who do you think he's gonna wanna ride with......?:P

2) If the boss wants to ride in style, maybe he should pay for my car... or give me a raise...

Saying that, when I bought my car in 2000, I didn't know that the Type-S was coming out. For me, the difference in the Premium and the Accord EX-V6 wasn't worth the price, but if I had to do it again, I would have waited for a TL-S.

1st off it's ALL honda. tech trickles down from F1 and all the other racing goodies. It hits American Honda first because they sell hundreds of thousands of these cars, Acura gotta get its bankroll somewhere.
2nd - I've owned a '90 and '91 legend and now '01 CLS and had a short poverty stricken stint in a used accord. If Honda=Acura why hasn't a big % of Honda owners moved up? My guess is Honda owners buy Hondas, the Integra was 10 times any of the Honda cars for about the same price and nothing could touch the legend as a LUXURY car with speed. Hell choose between the new accord and a '95 6-speed legend!! What would you like to arrive in?
3 - Honda owners don't move up, they feel they don't have to. They eventually have their needs addressed with the new generation, but they'll be 1 in 100,000. There's a sense of uniqueness and individuality in an Acura that you just can't get in a Honda.
4 - Acura owners don't move down unless their dot.bomb explodes and they need to regroup till they can get back to their Acura. And they feel like they need to go to BMW/Lex/MB to improve their situation only to find that $15k extra does not really puch them into the next league, you gotta spend $30k more
Be happy for your Honda siblings, it means our turn is just around the corner. Or go ahead and get the Accord coupe and tell people you like it but you used to drive a CLS....
