Both look horrible.
BMW has uniqueness, but so does Jar Jar Binks.
Lexus looks completely anonymous.
What's wrong with designers these days?
A lot of people have said good things about the 03 CLS tails

Chris Bangle should be strung up and shot! He fawkd up the rear end on the 7 and now he's doing the same thing on the 5.

One of my employees (a BMW 325 owner
) LOVES the look of the new 7 and 5 series. He just talks about it all the time. He is so fucking irritating so I think that he is the reason I don't like them.

I agree, hell even the bmw owners do that all day on the forums. Its really annoying, i dont even think half of them even look at the pictures

the new 7 looks 1000x better in person, esp in motion but too bad its getting redesigned already. I love the front of the new 5 but the rear.. well i'll have to see it in person

The look similar to me but each has it's own personality. Neither will be mistaken for the other....but the overall light styling is shaped similarly. I don't like the 7 series but I do like what I see of the 5. I prefer the Z4 over the Z3 as well.

Damn, the 5 looks like a damn Japanese Car. Nothing German about it at all. I'll have to see in person but that stupid rear is there again.
Angel Eyes are so TITS and I am sure it will drive even better than the current car.

the new 5-series tailight looks like that of one of the Hyundai models....i don't know which though, who'd be interested in knowing Hyundai cars anyways? haha.
i don't know what to say about the new 5...looks nothin' like the current 3 series nor the 7 series, have no idea which direction BMW is going...

.....without a doubt, the new 5-series will be a force to reckon with. BMW seems to intergrating the same brand building, lighting trademark accross it's line. My next ride will be a 5-series. How much fun would it be to creep up on people at dusk......

It's easy to blame Chris Bangle for two good reasons: He's the head of design and BMW has obviously seen the light regarding the 7's ugly-ass tail treatment since it has been redone (already)for this year. Something is patently wrong w/ the design department when they are forced by customer reaction to change a car's design significantly within one year's release of original.
