New 2004 3.5 Cl-sr(speculation)
New 2004 3.5 Cl-sr
The new 2004 3.5 CL-SR. 325 Horsepower, 325 ft. lbs. of torque. Tire size increased to Corvette like tires on 19" rims. 0-60 in 5.0 seconds while the quarter mile time was 13.2 and 119 miles per hour. Sorry to tease you guys, I guess I was just dreaming! But, who knows what the future will bring us.
Well, if all indications stay on track just having a 2004 CL is a dream. All signs point towards the elimination of the CL from the Acura line. I personally hope it's not true... but who knows.....
Why wouldn't it stick around? As long as it makes them money, which it has to, because there are 2 door accords, I believe they will keep it. It will also get refreshened just like the TL with 300 hp.

yeah well i think that maybe the CL is gonna die, as a name. my speculation is that the CL will be redesigned (maybe even overhauled completely like the RSX was to the Integra), given a new name (CSX?) and more HP (using the same engine as the TL?). i could see this happening b/c they did it to the Integra, and i think the comming of the RSX showed the beginning of a trend that Acura may follow.
pure speculation, but wouldnt that be nice.........

I doubt seriously that Acura is going to make the CL into any more of a sports coupe than it already is. Why bother? There already is the RSX-S and soon to be Type R as well as the NSX and soon to be released re-vamp of that. That would put three dedicated sports coupes into a single line of cars.
And, as we all know, the 4-doors are where all of the big sales are so why would any car maker go to a three coupe line-up, all with performance in mind? Plus, why would Acura make a 5 second CL when the new NSX will probably only be capable of 4.5seconds to 60.
The CL, on paper, sounded like a good idea: a sporty, luwury coupe with room enough for baby boomers to be comfortable during their retirement. Unfortunately, I think what people (especially here) were really looking for was a coupe with more (or equal) emphasis on performance as well as luxury. In reality, obviously, Acura's plans did not turn out so well.

While we are on the topic of coupes.... Why the hell is the toyota solara doing so well? I don't get it, where I live, there are hundreds of them like civics. My parking lot where i work at has 8 there, all sorts of colors. I think the cls looks better but I don't understand why it's not selling like that. Furthermore, a convertible solara cost as much as the cls and I see tons of those too. Like I said, I rarely see cls, and I wish acura will revamp what they have done and make an all out, I quote from sidemarker ...."a new make over + a oem body kit + a convertable hard top + RWD + 280-290 hp and a starting price of 32k.
If Acura does offer a third generation CL, the my version of assumption is: still 3.2L VTEC V6, but with dohc configuration, so the horsepower would dramatically increase to 280hp. FWD with 5A and 6M. Price? lower than $33,000.
