new 18's & eibach pro kit

my car is at the body shop getting fixed after being ran into a curb at 40mph right after putting my new 19's on. anyway i have 4 new 18's (18x7.5 & 225/40/18) and an eibach pro-kit they are putting on. the drop is 2f & 1.7r. i have spent an hour on here getting mixed answers on wether i need a camber kit.

DOES ANYONE KNOW FOR SURE IF I NEED ONE? i would rather purchase it and give it to them instead of them finding out they need one and them charging me out the ass for it.

thanks in advance for your responses...

Just sent you a PM. I have 19s now, but had 18s before when the Eibach kit was installed. I only needed the camber kit in the rear....so far the front is perfectly fine.

it will very from car to car, some will and some won't. The ergonomics of each car are individual.

I think you should get a camber kit for your rears. Ive seen cl's with the prokit and it needs it. Unless you dont mind the uneven tire wear.

i have the prokit with 18s set up as well and you are going to need a rear camber kit only. just go to groupbuycenter.com they are having a group buy for ingalls camber kit that allows you to set the toe as well for 190.

I have a Comptech drop on Koni/Neuspeed shocks with the spring clip at the 2nd from the top position (there are 5 total where the center position is the "normal" slot) and at this very moment, the car's getting a rear camber kit installed. Fronts are fine, but the rears are approx. 0.5 degrees past specs. Gaps at all fours measure ~1.7" (approx. 3 fingers). So if I need a camber kit, you'll definitely need one... unless you like spending bucks on new tires every 3 months or so.

the body shop just called and the mechanic said he thinks i will need a camber kit - the stock wont adjust enough. they gave me a price of $700 for a full kit, front and back! im like fuck that, put the springs on, do the 4 wheel alignment and see how close to spec you can get the camber.

am i right when i think that the worst case scenario is the camber is off, and i can just buy the kit(s) online and have someone else do it after the fact?

Goto v6performance.net and find ei-accord. He will give you a good deal on a camber kit and it will be very low compared to 700. Say Tam sent you.

I got my SPC rear kit for $200 installed. I had it done at the same place I bought my rims and Eibach kit...so maybe they hooked me up a bit. Shop around...you should be able to find a place cheaper than $700 and you may not even need to do both front/rear

they found that one of my rear shocks was bad, so once they get that in tomorrow, they will put the new springs on, check the camber, and let me know. tires.com said they would ship me the rear eibach camber kit for $169 if i need it...

well, the body shop called. the front camber is fine, the rear is off: -1.2 on the driver side, and its borderline spec on the passenger side. i found the eibach camber kit in stock at www.genxmuscle.com for $161 w/ free shipping, so i just did that. i will have to get that put on and the car re-alligned when i come back from my nyc vacation next week.

i am gonna go by the body shop on my way home and see how she looks with the new wheels/tires/springs...

If you get an alignment then have them throw on the camber kit you will need to align the rears again.

I'm not sure you really need a camber kit, but the insurance doesn't hurt. I've put 20k miles on my p7000's with the rear packed so full that I had a little hoopty thing going on. Little bit of inner tire wear, but I think I'll just about run out of tread before camber wear becomes an issue.

Sig has it, but this is with Tein's dropped with about a finger or two of gap.
