Neuspeed Shortshift w/ NO PROBLEMS

Did any of you other guys install your short shifter with no dremeling required? I was just wondering if it was just a small percentage of them that didn't work well. Mine was installed last night and I drove it all night without any opping from any of the 1,3,5 shifts.

this could'va stayed in the other thread, no? after all, that is where all the previous/current discussion on this item is. From what I recall, 2 others said they had to trim, 1 mentioned he didn't have to, and then I asked you for your input.

Put mine in. NO FITMENT ISSUES. Works fine on my car. Don't know if I like it. I really feel no difference in the shortness of the shift. Feels the same to me. However I do feel a difference in the way the car shifts. The shifts seem alot more notchy. Harder to get into gear on each through. Is that an after effect? It's not hitting anything, & it's in all gears. Before it was very smooth.

That was the real reason that I returned it. Shifting became something of a painful workout -- quite a difference from the butter like shifts with the stock linkage.

The test that really clinched it for me was driving on a favorite twisty road where I have to make a couple downshifts. I couldn't do a fast downshift with the adapter in place.

I said this in my original thread and I think it must be true. Neuspeed must be making a uniform product, but we are having a lot of different experiences with this product. Some have no issues, some have stiff throws, and some have to trim a lot. Remember also, a number of people complained that some of their shifts (particularly 2nd gear) were notchy when the car was new -- mine and a couple other's were not. I've had butter smooth shifts in all gears from day one of ownership.

I think there must be some variability in the stock shifter set up from car to car. Why this is, I cannot say, but either Neuspeed is making a different piece for each person (not!) or there is something different about the dimensions of the final installed product.
