Question Need Your Opinion Please!

Hey guys!

I wanted to know your thoughts on mabey selling my 01 CL type S. What do you think i can get for it? I am not trading it in, I know the outcome. So i wanted to get your opinions. Ok so here it goes, purchase in 2001 with 10,212 miles. All the service done from MacDavid Acura, where i bought the car. No Accidents, what soever. All the service is up to date. Here is the catch, 162,000 MILES. Which all of those have been driven by myself, never raced. Their is still 18,000 MILES of warrant left on the car. I know, i paid extra through ACURA to 180k. Oh yeah, not to mention, 2003 front and read bumpers, lights both front and rear, and 2003 wheels, all from the ACURA Dealer, David Macdavid. So what do you guys think if i put it in the paper, or in the auto trader????? 8900.........maybe 7900???? I know it has lots of miles, but you dont see many of them this well kept either.

SO, what your thoughts???

Thanks,

Matt Rasul, CPA

Yeah, your car may have been very well kept, but that is a LOT of miles. You'll find a buyer, but it will take a while.

According to Edmunds.com the car is worth around 8K for a private party deal, so you're in the ball park.

Yeah, I'd have to say that's ballpark. I've seen a couple of high mileage 01 CL's on my local craigslist and that seems to be th going rate...

Won't get more the $5K

What person would spend $8K on a used car with over 150K miles?

Yeah, i am sure someone will pay 8k for my car. Any less, you will be getting a car, that will break down on you all day long. I was looking in the paper, and high mileage hondas and older cl's were going for 6-9k. Someone who wants a CL type S, but with the budget of a honda will buy. THANKS GUYS!!!!!!!

Man, if I were you I know the car is probably almost or might even be paid off, I would just keep the son of a bich if that was the case. The CLS is rare find, but I think you can sell it though.

agree, and with a tranny problem

kbb isnt always right. but its something you can try and go buy and hopefully people will not notice consumer demand.

man cars on kbb are priced inaccurate according to the market today. usually a lot higher than what they are worth. i dont think kbb took into account of the transmission problem. but when i tried to sell on the streets, everyone knew of the transmission and thats a strong losing point.

so to be brief, dont price is near 7K unless you dont mind selling it for months.

to be honest, i would pay no more than $5k for the car.

What you need to remember when looking in the paper or on line is that the price shown is what they are asking , not necessarily what they are getting .
