Need Wheel Help Asap!!! Please!

Some of you might remember this post.

Well the tires are in and these guys are still insisting they'll fit. My quick question is this.

If I go there and let these guys put a wheel on my car with the tire and they drop the car off the lift... will it rub then and there or does it have to be driven first?

Again these are Axis 19" with a +35 off-set wheels with 235/35/19 Nitto 555 tires mounted.

I'm afraid they'll stick the wheel on and it will look copasetic until I drive off and I've paid them. Then when it does rub I have to fight with them to get my money back. And we all know how hard that shit is.

NOOOO!!!!!!

That is exactly what happened to me. SO DON"T DO IT! AutoTrix tried to fool me the same way. I told them I wanted a +45 offset and they said they had them. So I go ahead and order 235/35/19 Toyo ZF4's for overnight becuase they didn't have them there, which cost extra. AFTER I did this they got the wheels in and told me they only had +35 offset and that he talked to the guy who supplies them and that they will fit on the CL and TL with no problems. SO, they mounted and put them on and they looked copasetic as you thought. With them on and without the car lowered it looked like a 4x4. The sidewalls stick out of the fenders and it doesnt look good at all. With the +35 offset you cant even lower the car after, even with the comptech springs. So after arguing with them I had to get it in writing that I would get my +45 offset wheels in about 2 months. Here I am today with the +45 offset and comptech springs, but a lot of waiting and headache.

+35 and 235's wont look right and will rub for sure. i have 19x8, +48 and 225 series tires and have about a centimeter of clearance before i rub. not only that, but the wheels will stick out too far and will look funny.

so are you saying that any rim with a +45 offset will be the only size that fits our cars?

18's in +48 would be better IMO....or 19's in +51

Just ask those garage guys what if the wheel/tire rubbed. At least you know if they will do anything or do nothing to correct the rubbing problem.

Just bear in mind that when the car is fully loaded and the springs are compressed when going through bumps or fast corners, the rear tires will go inside the fender. So if the wheel/tire sits outside the fender, the fender will become the bump stop for the wheel/tire = major rubbing.

Good luck.

You're pretty much safe with anything over a +45 on 18" wheels and up....
