Someone hit my rear bumper today while my car was parked. It's an '01 3.2CL, black. So now after filling out the police report and all that I'm on the prowl for a replacement part. Anyone here know of a good source for stock parts? I just want to replace it with the stock bumper and would rather not go through the dealer (obviously). Also, if anyone is in the NJ area, can you recommend a good bodyshop that will be able to do the paint job? While I'm on the topic of painting the stock bumper, how is this generally done? I know they blend the paint with the existing body panels, but does this mean they will be throwing any new paint on the body where it meets the rear bumper? Is this potentially going to create imperfections in the other body panels that are touching the new bumper? Any help/suggestions would be, well, helpful... I'm not quite the happy camper at the moment.

just as an addition to my above post... I already found the part at acuracarland, but their price is approx $225 with shipping. Anyone know a parts dealer out there with better pricing..?

[edit: just to be clear on this, I'm referring to the rear bumper COVER, not the whole bumper...]

one further edit... the acuracarland price will be 20% discounted if I order online. Didn't realize that until I called them just now... So I'm looking at approx $160 or so for an online order...

OK, just got word back... our vendor gets them from Acura... so they're genuine Acura parts... which are higher then what you found them for... so thanks for the chance but your best bet is to go with what you found as long as the quality is the same

I backed into my aunt in my driveway and had to replace the rear bumper cover. I got a brand new one from Acura dealer and took it to the body shop they use to be painted and installed. Cost roughly 215 from Acura for a brand new genuine part.

Why don't you want to buy it from Acura?

PS - where in NJ are you located. I am in NJ
