I just registered and have had my red cl-s sice 2001. I feel that the car needs another 40-50 horsepower to feel lighter. I have driven the 330Ci, M3, old S4, C32 AMG, Lexus IS300, G35c, and 350Z. I like all those cars, but how would the car compare to say the Z and G35c with comptech headers, aem or injen intake, ( which is better?) and the comptech exhaust or HKS Dragger ( also which is better for gains?). Does the VTEC controller do much and what is the purpose? If i am correct on the gains with the comptech headers, comptech exhaust , and aem intake i should have almost 315 HP on paper right? And on the dyno i would really have like 265hp???

Sorry for the long post and sorry if i confuse you but please tell me what intake and exhaust combo's i should use.

Headers and an AEM intake are good for around 35whp, which should help you dyno around 235whp or so. Exhaust are more for looks and sound than adding hp. Maybe 1-2whp or so. Not worth it, IMHO.

The thing all of those cars have that the CLS doesn't is torque and they're all RWD or AWD. Two things you can't really mod the CLS and get.

 

For growl and nice sound, which exhaust is best???

Forget this, I'm not getting any help so i'll probably sell my car and get an old S4 with a chip and hunt down M3's.
