need opinion & help

Okay , my car just died with complete tranny failure and will be at the dealer at least two weeks. I have 41.000 miles on it . The question is which do I do :
1) Keep the car and buy the extended warranty when it is fixed again and sell it after the warranty runs out.
2) get rid of it after it is fixed.

What do you guys think I can get in trade in . It is a 2001 Nonnavi CL-S. 41,000 miles on it . My only problem is do I want to keep paying for a car that might die again from tranny problems , since there doesnt seem to be any hope in sight . OR do I buy the warranty and keep it .

Part Two :
If I get rid of it , what would I buy ? Needs to be 30K or less.
My thoughts so far in no particular order.
IS 300 , I35, Z3

What I would do is get rid of the CL-s (i like the CL, but wouldn't wanna deal with all these tranny problems, I'm waitng to see if mines is gonna go!)
Get the S2000, same price as a CL, don't get a Z3(sLooOw) Unless you want a M coupe...but that's a different story
S2K is what I would do!
or maybe a used S4
would say WRX, t's a fuckin rocket from a dead stop,
but it's so UgLy !!!

Just stop fkin around and get a S2K
6 spd, convertible, LoTs of aftermarket parts
p.s. (luv my type s but if my tranny goes, that's what i'm gonna do)

The cars you listed are well...different. If you want a convertable go with the Z3. Want a "tough," agressive car: the IS. Although the IS is somewhat underpowered and doesn't have a comfottable luxury feel. The I35 on the other hand is the perfect car to swicth to from your Acura: plenty of standard features, comfortable, powerful, and elegant. If I were you I would get a Z3 or the I35 depending on which body style you really want.

well I am not sure. I would love a convertible, but really want a 2+2 convertible . I think the Z3 is just a little too small. Plus BMW service costs are enormous. I have a 99 maxima that has been nothing but spectacular, so the I35 sounds very appealing.

I am just worried about trade in . Is it unrealistic to expect around 19500 - 20K .
