NEED more TORQUE

I just got an 02 CL type S, unfortunately its automatic . My last car was a V8 so I had no problems taking off. I think my CL needs some more torque. Does anyone have a suggestion on what mods I should do first or which give a better increase in torque/$?

Only way to increase torque is a Super Charger or Turbo. NOS if you spray off the line. Intake, headers, exhaust, and unichip will help the mid-high range.

but you still go faster 0-60 & 1/4 mile

it's nice to have other mods like pulleys, icebox and spacers to help make some TQ.

3.5L conversion... do a search, gives u pretty decent tq. with i/h and 3.5 mdx block you will put down some nice #'s.

transmission upgrade to a more efficient tq converter will help too

The only way to increase low end tq is by more displacement (3.5L conversion) or a Roots style supercharger (Comptech). Headers, intake, and turbo wont give you more power off idle, which is what you're looking for.

Better alternative is to make due with the displacement that you do have and do all the NA bolt-ons (headers, intake, pulleys, thermoblock, exhaust). With a 6 speed & traction it'll run 13's and have excellent highway pull. I dont really see a point in having more low end tq, since the car cant handle the small amount of low end power it already has (ie. tq steer, wheelhop, etc).
