Need Help! Scalbert, Allmotor, Smitty, EricL etc...

Today I installed my wet nitrous kit from Zex. Everything works fine with the nitrous, but ever since I did the install the following things stopped working:
  1. Power Windows
  2. Sunroof
  3. Intermitent Wipers (Regular wiper speed works) **WTF?**
  4. Entire Dashboard (P-R-N-D-2-1 Guage, RPM Guage, Speedo, Gas Guage, Temp Guage, Odometer/Trip/Outside Temp Guage)
  5. Car will not move out of part (Even when the brake is pressed)

I already checked ALL of the FUSES and none of them are blown. I checked the fuses inside the car (driver and passenger). I checked the fuse box under the hood. Is there something I am missing here?

BTW: The car starts and idles, the AC blows cold, the radio works, the power seats and the heated seats work. I was able to get it out of park by pushing the manual release button next to the shifter and the car drives normally.

CAN SOMEONE HELP ME??

I might have to bring it to the dealer on Monday if I can't fugure it out.

when you disconnect the battery, all optional accessories reset to manual mode. turn your key to II then I then II again. maybe that will work, Silverbulit40 (chris) had a similar problem and asked for my help, my method worked then, hopefully it works for you.

Something is busted Are you sure of the fuses? Where did you tap power for the Nitrous... I assume the ZEX taps the TPS as well? There is no relay controlling the dash display to my knowledge.

The only wire I tapped into was the TPS wire.

Yes I drove all the way there and got rained out

I checked every fuse one by one and they are all good. Are there fuses anywhere else besides the driver side, passengar side and under the hood? I used the same power wire I had my ZEX dry kit connected to. I even used the same switch. Yes it does tap into the TPS sensor as well.

Thanks for your suggestion, I will try it tomorrow.

BTW: Should I turn the key to II then I then II again while the battery is connected or disconnected?

I just found the problem!!! It was a fuse...I must have missed it yesterday. It was a 7.5 Amp fuse on the drivers side. It was the instrument panel fuse. I checked it with a volt meter and it was bad.

Turns out, the wet Zex kit draws 10 amps which is more than the dry kit. This explains why I did not have a problem with the dry kit. I changed the blown 7.5 amp fuse with a 10 amp fuse and everything works perfect.

I have not been able to run the car yet with the wet kit because it has been raining non-stop since yesterday. As soon as the rain stops I will test it out with an 85 shot and let you guys know.

Thanks

It's looks like a lot more lines that it actually is. I had to loop the fuel SS braided line for the fuel b/c it was too long. The other line is for the purge kit. The only line that is extra is for the fuel on the nitrous nozzle.

I will be going to the track as soon as it stops raining, but it is rainy season now in Florida It's been raining like 4 times a week.

Glad to hear you found it, sorry I didn't see the thread earlier.

Has anyone else run a wet kit in this manner?? The reason I ask is that I would be concerned about fuel falling out of the mixture in the center plenum. That could cause a lean condition and...

I recall years ago some SHO guys running into lean issues on one or more cylinders with a we nitrous kit. The fuel was puddling in part of the manifold.

I was hoping is was something simple as a fuse. I saw this thread yesterday, but unfortunately couldn't o0ffer any help other than what you already tried.

Install looks great. Now go blow up that tranny.

j/k

I was not aware that this could be a potential problem. Now you've got me worried.

I wonder if there is anyone here running a wet kit that can comment on this.

I did read this on their website:

"The ZEX "Wet" Nitrous System has the most advanced features of any "wet" nitrous system on the market. The patent pending "Fuel Shear" technology used in our nitrous nozzle, places the enrichment fuel directly inside the high-speed nitrous plume exiting the nozzle. This results in the most complete atomization of enrichment fuel possible. Super-fine atomization of enrichment fuel ensures maximum horsepower and eliminates fuel puddling that can cause intake backfires."

Just take it easy at first and possibly get to a dyno with a Wide Band monitor. That way you will know for sure.

Honestly, I doubt it will be a problem as the lengths are not to large. But it is something to be aware of and to take it cautiously at first.

Unfortunately there is no track in Ft. Lauderdale. I go to Moroso Motorsports Park in West Palm Beach. It's about 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Huh, I could have sworn I could make it between West Palm and Ft. Lauderdale in half that time.

It is possible to get to some parts of WPB in an hour or less, but the fastest I can get to the track (without getting arrested) is 1 hour 15 minutes. If I drive normal (80-85mph) it takes about 1 hour 25-30 minutes (depending on traffic). Moroso is ~120 miles from my house.

Yes I did...It was just that one time when I hit the rev limiter. I had some CEL's after that, but that was because one of my spark plugs were fouled. I installed a Walbro 255 lph fuel pump, new plugs and no more CEL's since.

How do you like the ZEX? I was running an NX kit and loved how smoothed it kicked in. What shot and psi did you run 13.5?

I love it It comes on smooth and strong at the same time. I ran the 13.5 with a 75 shot (dry).
