Need help, Rims Offset, brake kit stuff
Hey gang, whats going on?
Need some help here...still cant figure out what the all around thing is with getting rims, offset and make sure I have enough room for a brake kit upgrade such as rotora or wilwood
I'm definetly getting 19's..either 19x8 or 19x7.5
These are ones that I like to choose from:
Axis Se7en 19x8
DAAT DA53 19x8
These are a couple I saw on www.superbuytires.com and know there are others, but as a possible choice I'm listing these. The main question I guess I have is that when buying rims from whomever....do you say I want MODEL, SIZE, FINISH, then tell them what offset you want?
I mean, how do you know what offset you need on certain rims so that you'll have the clearance needed for brake kits?
Thanks for any help.

you pretty much need a spec-sheet of the brake kit (it'll tell you how many millimeters of clearance you would need between the rotor and the inner surface of the rim spokes) to clear the calipers.
just throwing you offset numbers won't do you any good. some rim makers (such as volk) will have "high-pad" wheels, which are designed for the bigger calipers.
knowing what offset and what "kind" of rims to get is one thing. communicating this information to a wheel vendor is another. i waited 4 months for Volk GT-P's "high-pad" and the idiots at Mackin (idiots who distribute Volks here in the States) still got the order wrong.
so i got tired of waiting and just went with whatever would clear...:
so you're best bet is to find a spec-sheet of the BBK you intend to buy and work backwards from there. g'luck
