need help with replacing cabin filter
I had lots of trouble at the very end of trying to get out the "plastic dash cover". I was able to remove the glove box, but when I tried to take out the plastic piece of the dash that the glove box was connected to, I got everything unsecured except for the left side. It looked like there was maybe a clip or two of something holding it in. I ended up having to put everything back so I can attempt to do it again later on. Did anybody else have this problem? Anyone have detailed directions?
Don't know what you are having problems with, it sounds like you are trying to get something out that doesn't need to be removed.
Take a look in the FAQ, instructins should be there. Did mine is 20 minutes first time out.

not quite sure what youre having problem with but
follow these steps should help
remove philips screw on the right side of hte glove box
remove 2 bump stops by pushing them in from outside of the box
open the box and let it hang all the way down and remove screws holding box latches (on the dash side)
once the box is removed remove dash support bar at the bottom near glove box latch area. (two scres at each side) this step may be for the MDX i cant remember but its not that important.
if this is first time this is done on that vehicle then you will need a set of wire cuters and cut that square piece that covers main "door" which covers air filter hole.
then pop filter hole cover off .
when removing the filter start with one at the bottom you can only take them one at a time
when you pop in new filters make sure air flow arrows are pointing towrds the CD player/driver side
when putting cartriges back slide one of them in at the bottom then slide all the way up and hold it there while inserting 2nd cartridge.
once they are in and you snap main filter enterance cover on install peace you cut out horizontal comparing to how it was when you removed it (there are already 2 screws bolted in place which you need to take out and put them back in while holding the cover in place)
thats it sorry if its unclear and all the mistakes i am reallly tired not paying much attention

I changed the filters on my 03 some months ago. The directions from threads in this forum and available on the web didn't mention the damper which slows the opening/closing of the glove box. It is not difficult to disconnect, one screw I think. The other possibility is that you didn't push in the bump stop, it requires a twist and push to go into the glove box. Post more details on your first attempt and someone can help you on this forum.
Good luck,
