Need a fun Conv't for summer.

I want something to drive next summer out in the hamptons that's fun to drive so has to be a conv't and also looks good. Something I can take to the beach and not mind getting sand all over and at the same time look nice when driving around. Also looking to spend between $15K-20K
I only have one thought so far, and even though I'm not a 3 series fan I do like the E36 Conv'ts. So I was thinking like a 1997 Black on Black 325ci. Anyone have any other suggestions.

hmmmm, well if you are looking to maintain the pretty boy look......look for 325. But if you want to compensate what's lacking in between your legs try to find and SS camero

we all know camaro drivers have nothing to compensate for, but i would deffintily look up a 98 camaro convertible z28 or SS. 98 and above have the LS1.

Easy answer:

Sebring convertible.

Fits your price range and looks decent. You can get it all dirty and sandy and not give a shit.

A4 now has a convertible. Pricey but probably the best new car convertible out these days.

Mustang GT convertable
Camaro Z28 convertable

those have nasty ass resale values, you could prolly pick up a newer one of those for about the same as the older Bimmer. more hp and tq, with maybe a couple hundred invested in suspension mods you could prolly get it to handle almost like the lil bimmer. sounds like a good buy to me.

o yeah and the sebring convertable? 200hp+full size car= not as fun as maybe youd like. but test drive em and decide for yourself.

ya this is the only real choice IMO:

Toyota MR2 Spyder

you can get a used 2000 or 2001 for under 20k.

It is one of the best handling cars on the market... and it looks good.

Its a sports car not an old man car like some of the other options... and you can debadge it and pretend its a porsche. HAHA.

Tons of aftermarket too if your interested in that.

Ya thats what I would go for.

Get a 64 Lincoln Continental 4dr drop top. Every power option imaginable, suicide rear doors, and they lay body if you airbag it.

Aaron- That'd work in Glendale, that's not gonna be something fun to drive to the beach and stuff.

The S2000 is too small, I forgot to mention I need to fit golf clubs in the car at all times.

Adam-- I will check that out today and see what I think of those and how well clubs fit in.

Zapata- Yeah I'm trying to stick with the pretty boy look, I'm Italian, we don't need compensation anywhere.

Thanks for the suggestions, I got till like March to decide, but I'll go look at that MR2 today. Anything else chime in.

Weeerd. I would def look at a used eclipse or especcially a camaro if u need to haul golf bags. The camaro has alot of cargo space wit the rear seats down.

I'd rather drive a Geo Metro convertible than a Camaro.

pga,
Awe come on dude you gotta get the whole italiano thing going with the gold chains and the muslce car. I would say chest hair but we all know you haven't hit puberty :P

Seriously,
I think the solution is simple......MIATA!!!! You can pick one up for 12k and put a small system in the back

2000 Mazda MX-5 Miata Sport Convertible
2 Dr MX-5 Special Edition Convertible

15k Chicks will dig it and you'll have a BLAST driving it

yea the miata is nice too.

but dude... the S2000 is NOT too small for golf clubs. the trunk in the S2000 is bigger then the trunk in the CL. You can easily fit a body and some clubs in there.

Really? a body? man that will come in hnady for some things I got to take care of. I was gonna check out the Drop Top Caddy if I needed trunk space. That'd be a pimp car black on black. Well now I got some ideas at least to shop around. Luckily I got till March/April so should be enough time.

The MR2 is fugly, and i don't think it would hold a single club. If I remember right, the only trunk that thing has is a tiny briefcase size hole under the hood, since it's mid-engined.

I looked around a few things today. Sicne I am only using this car for about 11 weeks, I think I'm gonna try and keep it cheap and get like a 1996/7 BMW 325ic which should run about $17K. Then put some 18s on it and a TV in the dash, and leave it at that. I mean it will be a good beach car and also something that girls out in the hamptons will look at a lot more than most cars. Also, I really want backseats avaible, because we can bring girls in the car and shit, and also it's just more useful. Thanks for the help guys, If anyone comes across a Drop To pcaddy for $15K let me know

I know you're going for the pretty boy look, but I would so suggest a pimped out Jeep Wrangler (old school) those things you can hose down.
