Need Amp info, please help!

mods: Sorry to post here but I figured I'd get a better response this way.

I'm thinking of replacing the stock Bose amp with an aftermarket one. If I understand correctly, the stock unit is only like 4x25w?? I have been doing some searching on here and I'm getting mixed info. I'd like to use the output the stock Bose amp as my pre-amp signal w/LOC or using speaker level outputs into the aftermarket. Will this perform? Has anyone done a replacement like this successfuly? If so, how did it sound? I hear the Stock Bose speakers are 1ohm and most aftermarket amps put out 2 or 4ohms. What problems might this cause? Won't the single ohms change the power output of my amp? honestly, I don't even know if it's possible to do this but if someone has done this please tell me! Any expert advice on this I would appreciate!

if they are 1ohm speakers it will over heat the amp, too much current will go through the amp, and i can fry it.

If you are going to replace the amplifier, you might as well replace the speakers also because unless you are getting a high-end competition high current amplifier, it will fry your amp because of the low impediance of the stock speakers.

^^^ Did you replace the stock speakers at the same time as the amp?
