Necessary to install CAI before cutting for the bypass install?

Hey Guys -

I'm going to put in my CAI tomorrow, and according to the AEM instructions, you should install the CAI before cutting the pipe for the bypass. This procedure is to ensure that the bypass will fit properly and not be obstructed by anything.

Is this necessary? I've noticed most people have installed theirs around the 'AEM' lettering. How high on the pipe can you go without running into space issues?

Also, are there any special tricks I should know about for the installation?

Thanks!

Cut about 2.5 inches off and make the first cut about 2 below the bend. Here is a faq on how to install a CAI: http://wizardsworks.org/chod/acura/cai/
