Navigation conversion

Hi all...
I have 03 CL-S without navi. I went to tweeter, and they said that if i want to change the head unit from stock Bose to Pioneer (or other nav head unit), i have to replace ALL of my factory speakers, since BOSE system only works with BOSE headunit.

Is there any way around this?...i mean...changing the whole sound system in your car is not cheap.....

Any advise? (if everything else fails, i'll just have to go with the portable one)

I have the Double Din Kenwood DDX-6019, It has RGB input for navigation system and has video input for rear view camera. I didn't need to replace the factory bose speakers, but I am going to buy better ones here soon and a better amp.

had that one been out when i bought the 8017, i would've saved the extra cash and gone with that one. who needs a 5.1 proc. anyway?

So, for say...i'm getting Pioneer AVIC-D2 for my indash nav/head unit, it can work with our factory BOSE Speakers??....

They kept saying that those BOSE speakers won't work with head units other than BOSE because they have different frequency or something......

I'm trying to have them install it.... rather than doing it myself...but this is what they kept tellling....

So, bottom line is, factory BOSE speakers can connect fine and perfectly with any aftermarket headunit / nav system??...will that Pioneer head unit (Pioneer AVIC-D2) work?...Anything else i need to know to do this conversion?....

Any advise would be appreciated

Yes it can work with the speakers. They are probably talking about the amp and the radio and the amp in the individual speaker confliciting. Two power sources to each speaker could fry them, according to manuals etc. You'll be fine. The radio WILL connect PERFECTLY and you will not run into any problems. Plug and play my man!

i haev a poineer d1 with a dvd player and with the stock bose speakers .. ive heard many places say that the bose speakers cant work with new head units and i went to this place and they did it for me and the only problem is that the stock speakers have a low static like noise to them all the time if the music is low enough to hear it.
