I am going to buy a CL probably towards the end of summer. If I get the navigation system, do I have to pay for the use of it on a monthly basis?

I currently have a handheld GPS -- I don't have to pay for any updates or time usage. Is it the same way for the CL's navigation?

If I do have to pay a monthly subscription, what does that pay for (i.e. usage, updates, time)?

No monthly/annual fee, and upgrades are offered usually once a year for about $150.

 

Upgrades are not required for the Acura Navi, you can easily live with the original setup. I think the Acura Navi upgrades (via DVD) are mostly map upgrades unlike your free handheld GPS upgrades (via the Internet) which usually contain feature and functionality improvements including updated maps.
