there is a newer version. out
2.60.. but to know if its any better than the previous versions is another thing.
I believe i have the Version 2.11 and its was not really worth the $149 i paid for it compared to the 2.02 version I upgraded from. (There were still a lot of missing addresses and unknown streets) it did not solve the headache problem I was trying to solve
They really need to do a system revamp or create a complete upgradeable solution with better maps or maybe stop selling this repackaged so called new maps(versions).

Only thing different are the maps and points of interest. You can see a list of what's changed in each version on the Alpine navi website. Since the software itself hasn't changed I haven't bothered upgrading. It won't change the fact that the actual navigation to destinations is total crap. Why does it insist on having you go left then right then left then right then left then right then left when it could just send you down several blocks and make a single left? EVERY time I use it to get somewhere I either end up ignoring it when I realize a better way to get there or get pissed when I get to the destination when I realize it made me take a much longer and indirect way there.
Before I went to the major hassle of putting my Kenwood/Garmin in I called Alpine.
To say they were not helpful is an understatement. They said Call Acura, that they in no way supported it and basically told me to get lost, this was at the executive level as I got the same at the first line of "support"

I was looking for a firmware or software update as my main complaint was the glacial speed at which the system works.
My Garmin takes less than ten seconds to calculate the route, sometimes the OEM takes almost a minute which seems like forever when you are used to the Garmin. Also, the Alpine will tell you to make a U turn for miles which is a annoying.
