I have a 2002 CLS w/ NAV and the NAV has been rock solid since I have had the car. I got a new NAV DVD and popped it in and now the car keeps going off the right had side of every road (on the map, not in real life ) I went in to the NAV diagnostic mode and under Yaw->Tuning, I can definitely see the car is not tracking correctly. If I drive in a perfectly straight line...the car starts turning to the right and is at a 25 degree turn by the about a 100 yards. I put the old DVD back and tried it again and everything works great. I don't get it....is the new software not reading the input from the yaw sensors correctly? Suggestions/comments?

I don’t have an answer to your problem, but I’m wondering what the version is of the “new” software you just installed.

The new version is 2.05B. I called the dealership today and they said they had never seen this problem before. Their "Nav expert" will be in on Tuesday so I am suppossed to bring it in then. Will let you all know how it turns out.

 

I guess I upgraded to 2.04A and it works great... ask for another DVD copy...

 

That's strange....My car came with 2.05F in March.

That is strange indeed. I was told that 2.05B was the latest. You got an 03 right? I wonder if model year makes a difference on which DVD it can support?

I don't know about all these version but before you tinker with all this I would ask the so-called Navi expert to get 2.05F for you instead of trying to make 2.05B work. If he's really a Navi expert, he can get this for you no problem. Otherwise, he's just another employee. See we don't know...suppose 2.05B is for MDX only?

 

Right. That is why I was asking if anyone has a newer version than 2.05F. I am going to ask them to get that version since I was told 2.05B was the latest and obviously it is not. The NAV system is actually made by Alpine and I had to wait 3 weeks for them to get me the B version. I will be mad if I have to wait another 3 for the F. Thanks for the advice.

 

Your Navi expert is reading off the Acura Owners Link website which still says 2.05b is for sale as an upgrade, I don't think it says it's the latest though.

Actually I really don't think there is much of a difference between the a-f subversions.
